Sankar. First prize for this picture!

Half a crore rupees worth of an entrepreneur's investment is half-submerged in rain water.
The ingenious crew has strung a pair of nylon ropes to guide people out of the vehicle.
The rain is beating off the roof severely, the droplets refracting the blue color of the roof into a blue haze.
And the unfazed green palms of India's south west coast gaze serenely at the exploits of yet another monsoon, its raindrops frenetically ricocheting off a spontaneously formed lake of chocolate.

The Calcutta volvo and the Kesineni volvo have different headlight treatment, is that an indicator of a big change. The flood pic looks like the bus is stuck (not moving)

It indeed is stuck, which is confirmed by the ropes that are their to guide the passengers out.

1100d : lil cosmetic changes have been happenin with the design of the volvo. the sharma volvo pic posted by me seems to the latest crd one

b/w, super pic! The owner must have spent quite a fortune to get the engine reworked... n what abt the 'wet' luggage of the passengers?

The place is Koduvalli in Kozhikode, Kerala. The story, I am told is that the bus attempted to move in Tyre high water, but was not aware that a flash flood was just around the corner.

So the CRDE ones have the headlight lower-line rising up (as in Sharma Volvo), as against the straight lower line of the others.

Since this is the B7R thread, thought of posting this here. Earlier the BMTC Volvos which run around Bangalore used to have these meek horns, which were more car-like. This afternoon spotted one from the 335E route which blared an air-horn at a truck. Do they come with 2 horns, or have they switched horns now?

Bunny, these are the very first generation Volvos bought by MSRTC which had undergone a full body change a couple of years ago (you'll notice that these buses have round headlamps instead of the rectangular ones). If you have a doubt about MSRTC's maintenance, find similar aged buses of other operators and you'll understand the difference.
