AFAIK, buses were sold as SML ISUZU.
Performance was way better than TATA Hispano/Divo.
Main reason for customers not going for repeat orders were due to non availability/delay in spare parts.

Thanks V1kram. Swaraj Tractors & Swaraj-Mazda combined together have a wide network of dealers thought India.

Its disappointing to see that Isuzu have not leveraged this to their benefit. Making a positive first impression is critical in today's ultra competitive environment.

The CVs are sold through the existing SML outlets (Swaraj Mazda Limited). The service is also handled by SML only. The body is built at the SML Factory in Punjab. The components come as CKD from an Isuzu plant outside India.

Leaving service aside, it is an excellent product - nice ride quality, excellent performance on level roads and low operating costs. But poor service backup alone killed the product.

Thanks Binai.
Indian customers LOVE japanese products be it cars, bikes or scooters but somehow in the CV sector they just haven't clicked. The biggest success so far has probably been the Eicher Mistu Canter.

With the new plant coming up in AP, lets hope it can have a second life

My feeling is that APSRTC will embrace this product as their own since its built in their state just like KSRTC has shown willingness to try & a preference to Volvo products for the same reason
