Re: Volvo Trucks - Collision warning & Emergency braking at its best!

The article mentions "With inputs from Kriess" which means they have received or verified some sort of written communications from logistics company. Just because it's contradicting our own understanding on the technology and that situation, we just can't take in a way the article is a clickbait.

And what is there to believe this, if only manufacturer claims? The investigations itself was done along with Volvo and that's what the article says.

Leave away investigations, a knowledge on the working on Volvo's emergency brakes ( even MAN EBA) will tell, if there is an intervention in braking by truck, Post stopping, hazards will be On automatically. In this case it's clear that there is no sign of hazard lights glowing, which itself is an indication of manual braking.

And why expect a manufacturer to come and disprove something which is actually bringing positive feedback for them. In fact by now you would have got a communication from Volvo, if it was due to emergency braking, claiming the technological superiority of their trucks.

And even after quoting all, I will still vote for Volvo in this case, reason without an effective foundation and ancillary brakes, trucks wouldn't have stopped in such short distance (even if it was automatic).

Firstly, regarding the source, it would have been much clearer if the article stated the source material or even whatever was the report generated by the Manufacturer or other agency.

Next, regarding the emergency hazard light being activated, doesnt it even get activated if the driver himself braked hard?

Third, regarding statement from the manufacturer, its not a country where you can take undue advantage of any vehicle related incident and try to market your product. Hence, whatever is the actual truth behind the incident cant be hushed off. If we think optimistically, this is a win win situation for the manufacturer. They can either appreciate their brakes, or both the brakes and the ADAS. Hence they dont have to suffer damage by giving out some clarification. Be it or not the system or the brakes or the driver which played a major role in this scenario, credit should be given where it is deserved. But whatever is the official analysis or report, it can be shared in the open. Then we can actually get to know where what works better and get to learn something. And I expect the same out of such an article as well. Where there is no value addition, thats a clickbait IMO. The info in the article is nothing more than whats available in various other websites. Regarding the article itself, I think its off topic to discuss about it so its better not to discuss about it and give it more attention
