re: Lamborghini tractors could go on sale in India

The cognoscenti of US farming and the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) moving to no-till or low-till such 'sexy machines' only accelerate the loss of top-soil.

Most of India's farm holdings are small and there is very little innovation or product development for them.

BCS-Ferrari has a walk-behind tractor which seems to be very versatile which probably suits the needs of most of farmers in India.

No doubt this looks excellent and a lesson to Indian tractor mfrs., to make their tractors look good too!

I personally believe ugliness must be banned even if the product is to be used by 'lowly' farmers like me!

Give it to the Italians for designing 'drool worthy' machines!

So let's get ready to be over-taken by tractors ! Finally, that video clip of a tractor getting a speeding ticket may actually become reality !

Lamborghini tractors to launch in India on 12-Dec-2013

Quote:
Soon there will be a name everyone knows in fields across India. On December 12, Lamborghini will launch its luxurious tractors here as part of the Kisan agri exhibition being held at Pune.
Though the Italian brand Lamborghini is usually associated with sports cars, its tractors have a longer history since they were launched in mid 1950s, even before the cars. The tractor brands has been owned by the SDF Group since 1973.
In India the tractors are manufactured at SDF’s plant in Ranipet, primarily for export. The plant is a global production hub for many of SDF’s internationally renowned tractor models including Deutz-Fahr.
Lamborghini tractors have the potential to change the way India's view farm vehicles. Initially, the plan is to target rich farmers, golf courses, vine yards, cricket stadium and luxury resorts.

Owning a Lamborghini will come true for many people in India.

I have seen many commercial vehicles sporting stolen car monogram/logo. For the first time we are going see the reverse trend :-)
