re: Ashok Leyland launches Partner and Mitr Buses

Some significant launches there, the Partner seems to be squarely targetted at the 407 range (specs unclear) which does not have a lot of competition except for Force motors offerings

While the MiTR has a lot of resemblence at least the front overhang to the Volvos if we look closely at the headlight cluster etc. The side actually looks like the Eicher buses. Have to see how they fare in the market.

Yes, completley agree. Significant launches by AL today, these two.

So if i am not wrong, these are grand-children of the Nissan Cabstar based Mahinda Cabking and Cosmo range right?

re: Ashok Leyland launches Partner and Mitr Buses

The Partner seems fine and could not have come at a better time, Ashok Leyland has aced it with the Partner, its the Mitr that is a let down, after the passenger version on the Dost, with those side facing seats. They should have taken the Tata Ultra as the bench mark and then designed it, the front and rear are outstanding, but the sides are a big let down and the interiors are very basic, there are many coach builders out there who can do a fabulous job at the same cost. Hope Ashok Leyland atleast offers the Mitr as a chassis, that is the only thing that is going to save Ashok Leyland from this backward move
