Today, I spotted a BEML Tatra truck cruising on the ORR in Bangalore. The truck was an LHD vehicle. Not sure what the truck was for.

This is a Tatra made in India by BEML Ltd, Bangalore. It's NOT imported

I was travelling on the Thane-Belapur road and something unusual caught my attention. It was a Mercedes MB100 van which was converted into a towing van. I think it’s the most expensive towing van in India

Not an MB100-based conversion but an imported purpose built crane.

I came across a Mahindra Jeeto look alike today. Gueesed it was a not Jeeto obviously because engine seemingly running on petrol and vintage of its pickup body. I imagined it to be a a kei pickup from Japan.
Later a quick internet search on wahan website seconded my guesstimate and it was found to be registered as an LGV manufactured by Suzuki Japan running on petrol. It seems like it is a version of Suzuki Carry. I couldn't capture a pic fron sideways but it had a fibre body plasted on its load bed. It had much better acceleration than similar vehicles and records tell it is running since year 2002!

Saw this very crane from Hyundai doing its duty in building the new Zuari bridge in Goa.

Same cranes were in duty at Nagpur Metro, still a couple of Hyundai are here.

Renault Maxity in Pune. First time I saw Renault commercial vehicle in India.

Not exactly imports but 50 trucks from Afghanistan had entered India through the Wagah border yesterday to pick up 2,500 MT wheat that India had donated. This is the first batch from an overall donation of 50,000 MT. The wheat will be handed over to the UN's World Food Program at Jalalabad.

What is interesting are the trucks, these are Mercedes SK tractor-trailers - possibly pre-facelist, the kind not generally familiar in India.

In this screengrab of the cargo being offloaded from an Indian Ashok Leyland truck to these Mercedes trucks, the Leyland does look somewhat short given that the Mercedes trucks are long tractor-trailers.

Must be a sight these trucks! Although I wonder what's up with the gigantic bumpers? Could anybody throw any light on this?

Seems to be common with trucks in Afghanistan (and Pakistan I think), based on the images online.
