I'd love to have this engine in a motorcycle! 16 BHP and 38 NM will make for a good touring thumper with long gear ratios to make use of the ample torque.

1) My 10 year old Suzuki Fiero F2 is a single cylinder 147.5 cc churning out a torque of 11.3 Nm @6000 rpm.

2) 2 year/40000 kms on a commercial vehicle? Is Mahindra serious or they are giving a "warranty" just because they have to?

Or, are they absolving their liabilities completely?
Come on, a light CV also does close to 200 kms/day on an average in any metro.

This translates to a running of close to 6k/month. For calculations and certain exemptions on days of operations, we cap it at 5k per month.

This so called warranty henceforth holds good for the period of 8 months max!!
Way to go!!

I sincerely hope all future Mahindra's carry this design philosophy and believe the designers were not given any 'Mahindra overdose' pills when working on this LCV!

On a serious note, its a step in the right direction as a replacement for the Gio. Hope the Maximo too gets a better looking replacement in the near future.

You actually like the look of this vehicle??? Yes, it's a definite improvement on the Gio, but this still looks pathetic from a design perspective. I think the Ace just looks so much more balanced. The cabin and the bumper look like they are from different vehicles here. No flow or symphony at all.

Is a proper 'park position' for the widescreen wipers such a big challenge for low cost vehicles? Jeeto along with the Nano plonking the wipers right in the line of sight of the passenger

Re: Mahindra Jeeto launched at Rs. 2.35 lakh

Finally a decent looking Mahindra CV. Reduced quirkiness is a good step at attracting more interest.

From the travel experience I had in a Tata Ace, I'd say the operators or owners look for these

- Road Tax
- Insurance
- Leaf Spring Suspension
- Engine Oil Consumption
- Simple Diesels over CRDi (No hi tech electronics)
- Should haul a tonne
- Fuel Economy

The cabin comforts are secondary to most of the drivers I have spoken too. As long as there is a driver seat, steering and ABC pedals, they are pretty okay.

Jeeto seems to tick many of the points here. Should get some moderate success than Maximo.

With 600 kg payload and its compact dimensions, this can be compared to Ace Zip and is definitely looking better. However, whether this can match the sales of Zip needs to be seen.

Agree, TATA vehicles somehow look better than a Mahindra (IMHO!!), however, for a Mahindra, this surely is a cutie, of sorts!

Well, just like how the lower end of the passenger segment is always looking for the 'affordable' tag, this LCV segment needs a workhorse and nothing more, no wonder Mahindra has not bothered to clad the interiors with even with PVC or some thin material to protect the paint and metal.

Is there some mistake or is the difference only in BHP with no corresponding increase in torque ? Sounds kind of weird.

Guys, I know this makes less torque with people comparing it to a single cylinder 150 cc Fiero, but check out the rpm at which the torque is made, Almost near idle.

I was caught by surprise as well. But, that's what it says in the e-brochure.

Are these Direct Injection engines based on CRDI and electronic injectors for Euro 3? Ace uses IDI for their Euro 3 engines.

Well done Mahindra! Now, Team-BHP, can we have an OFFICIAL REVIEW of this baby please???u
And Mahindra, when are you planning a launch in South Africa? I can assure you there is a market for it in SA, even with the 1 cylinder engine!. Loads of small traders, delivery companies, etc need a small cheap economical to run urban vehicle like this. I know I would buy one!

Re: Mahindra Jeeto launched at Rs. 2.35 lakh

Any new launch in the Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) segment spawns an equivalent passenger carrying version and vice versa. The Tata Ace has a Magic, the Ace Zip has a Magic Iris and Mahindra's Maxximo Plus has a Maxximo Mini Van sibling.

Launched in 2015, Jeeto has been the latest entrant to the segment. Now, Mahindra seems to be hard at work on the passenger version of the Jeeto. The vehicle was caught testing in Chennai.
