Tata Motors launches Ultra trucks in Bangladesh

Tata Motors, with its partner Nitol Motors Limited, has launched the Ultra range of light and intermediate commercial vehicles in Bangladesh.

The Ultra range can be built for varied load carrying, and can be used for several applications. It comes with payloads ranging from 7 to 16 tonnes. In Bangladesh, the Ultra 812 and Ultra 912 models have been launched in the cargo segment.

The Ultra 812 and Ultra 912 are powered by a Tata 497 TCIC engine that puts out 123 BHP and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a G-550 gearbox.

The cabin of the Tata Ultra comes with a dashboard that offers features such as a driving economy indicator, clutch and brake life indicator and water in fuel indicator. The gear lever is dashboard-mounted and reclining seats with arm rests and an adjustable steering system have also been provided. Additionally, there are provisions for the fitment of various accessories including a music system, air-conditioning and global positioning system (GPS) tracking.

The Ultra range does appear to be very modern atleast on paper. Lets hope it meets with good success in the Bangladeshi market and in India. Tata Motors can really use some sales on the Commercial vehicles to prop up the company's fortunes now.

Why are they not offering the new 3L and 5L DiCOR engines? They were meant for the Ultra series.
