Mahindra launches connected vehicle technology platform - DiGiSENSE

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched a technology platform named DiGiSENSE, which connects all Mahindra vehicles, including tractors, trucks and construction equipment, to the cloud. This allows owners, fleet operators, drivers, dealers, and service teams to have access to detailed information about the vehicle's real-time performance.

The platform will allow the driver to contact Emergency Services and share his location. Fleet owners can use DiGiSENSE to track the real time location of their vehicle. Additionally, the platform will also allow service teams to access performance figures and various other parameters of the vehicle on a real time basis. This remote diagnosis will help in ensuring vehicle health and improving its productivity.

The technology provides data such as route planning, delivery tracking, vehicle utilisation reports, trip optimisation, alerts and machine hour operations, and geo fencing.

Initially, the DiGiSENSE platform will be available in two small commercial vehicles - Jeeto and Imperio, along with the Arjun Novo tractor, the Blazo truck and the Earthmaster in the construction equipment space. It will eventually be spread across the entire Mahindra portfolio, and will be available as a subscription-based service.

Re: Mahindra launches connected vehicle technology platform - DiGiSENSE

Mahindra is always a step ahead of other Indian players. If my understanding is correct, this is even ahead of Honda Connect and its a pleasure to see that the facility has been extended to the farm equipment too.

This should give a fair amount of advantage to the company as well as good source of actual usage record of cars and farm equipment when sold in second hand market. very similar to CIBIL rating wherein Mahindra can certify the usage by approximate number of km run or number of operating hours for the machines connected through this service.

They should also do something with this service to protect thefts, may be once the ECU is programed with this setup, it should not let the car / truck / tractor operate once the add-on device is removed (something very similar to ECU TCU combination in automatic transmission based vehicles).

Kudos to Mahindra.

Mahindra Digisense launched for Jeeto and Imperio LCVs

Last month, Mahindra had introduced a connected vehicle platform named Digisense, which is essentially a cloud-based service that aims to connect all Mahindra vehicles with owners, fleet operators, drivers, dealers, and service teams. Now, the company has launched the service for two of its small commercial vehicles - the Jeeto and Imperio.

The Digisense platform will be available only in the X7 16 (BS4) variant of the Jeeto, and SC VX and DC VX variants of the Imperio. It will be available as a subscription-based service, though Mahindra is offering 1 year free subscription for its customers, as part of an invitation offer. After that, customers will be required to pay Rs. 5,000 to opt for Digisense in the Jeeto, and Rs. 6,000 in the Imperio.

Key features of the Digisense platform include real time tracking of the vehicle, history route logs, remote engine diagnosis, and breakdown assistance. Owners can also control the travel range of vehicle by dedicating a specific region for operation. This ensures that the driver doesn't violate the pre-decided routes. Moreover, the owners can even get SMS alerts in case the driver leaves the route or overspeeds.

Mahindra plans to roll out the Digisense platform for all its vehicles.
