Mahindra Bolero CNG caught testing

Today while coming to office on the Mumbai - Pune highway, I found a Bolero passing by. It was a single cabin pick up truck. What caught my attention is it is on CNG! It was a test vehicle and was carrying black cans, which must be filled with water for testing purposes. It has a long loading area in this category and looked very basic. Bolero MaxiTruck or something was written over it. It has sitting capacity of 2 people only. When I overtook that car, the sound was quite loud. I was expecting it to be silent.

Mods: If this is already posted, please merge the same in related post, thanks

Hmm. A quick google search leads us to the Mahindra website. Apparently its been on sale since a while.

Could this be a facelift version?

Mahindra Bolero CNG caught testing

This gas injection technology will be interesting to learn. Are they compressing the gas (CNG) somehow and injecting it into the combustion chamber when piston is at TDC, firing position.? Or is it fed to the engine during the suction stroke with incoming air into the combustion chamber.? ( like a Wartsila DFDE engine).
Is the gas ignition by a spark or pilot diesel spray.?

I request the gurus to share this interesting bit of tech being used here.!

It is just like Petrol Car with gas ignition with Spark Plugs and Multi Point Fuel Injection System. The gas and air mixture is supplied to engine through Air Intake (Inlet Manifold). Many improvements have been made through sequential closed loop and timing advancers.
