Also on display are the Oma Star Li and the Oma Star SPL scooters. While Lohia claims that the former is India's first lithium-ion battery operated electric two-wheeler, the latter is deigned for the disabled.

Equipped with a lithium-ion battery, the Oma Star Li has a claimed top speed of 25 km/h. It comes with alloy wheels, telescopic front suspension and a redesigned headlamp. It will be available in four colours - Fiery Red, Macho Black, Spirited Gray & White.

The Oma Star SPL (pictured in white below) comes with an additional rear wheel attached so that the differently-abled rider can operate it easily.

Re: Lohia Auto @ Auto Expo 2018

Commendable efforts if these are indeed results of indigenous R&D and production. I hope they are not re-branded cheap Chinese imports. EV with a range of 80km is going to be a problem for commercial vehicles. Will be good if it can be supplemented by a small capacity petrol engine so that overall cost of running is better than diesels. Combined with policy measures to phase out these noisy and most likely polluting diesel vehicles, it would be a good boost to local manufacturing.

Exactly my first thought. The front shocks and tyres are from a two wheeler too. I am not sure it can withstand the weight and abuse of a people carrier. Hope they have done enough testing on the parts, which I doubt.

Most parts looks to be lifted from Hero stable.
- Speedo from Splendor
- Entire front end, including the handle bars
- Head lamp from CD Dawn
- Wheels from Dawn series

My biggest worry is on the brakes

Re: Lohia Auto @ Auto Expo 2018

I am fairly certain that all these are Chinese CKDs. These things are dime a dozen in China. This is from my 5 years of living in PRC.
