M777 and Brahmos are my personal favorites. I would scream like a kid if I see a GPS guided charge fired off from M777 .

Actually this one is most lethal in long range interception of up to 90-110 Kilometers ,The Barak 8 , currently all front line navy ships are being equipped with Barak 8 or will be shortly.

I am an ardent follower of our armed forces and take a keen interest in the defence related equipment ongoings in general. This thread is a virtual overview of all that happened out there. If you had visited the berthed naval vessels would have been an icing on the cake.

I was able to go on 13th April to the DefExpo and on 14th to the Chennai port to have a look at the warships.

-- Defexpo was organized by Ministry of Defence.
-- This was the first time in Chennai.
-- Many people were excited to see a lot of Indian companies displaying their production capabilities in various forms (Few eg: Bulletproof glass displayed by an Indian company from UP, Coimbatore based Pricol showcased their analog and digital IPs, etc..).
-- Lot of companies from abroad as well.
-- Simulator test was available in Boeing Super Hornet.
-- Continental food was available.
-- Light Combat Helicopters from IAF, Tambaram base did sorties, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the public.
-- Due to the huge influx of visitors on the last day, the ECR stretch was choked by cars and many people have to return back without seeing.
-- TN government had a stall explaining the folk art of Tamilnadu.
-- TN policemen posted were amazed to see the latest guns and pistols. (One of them told me," so light with more power.").
-- Defense ministry was able to bring 4 warships (all indigenously built) for display at the Chennai port.
-- Elaborate arrangements were made for the public.
-- Cameras/Cellphones were allowed only to few ships. I was able to take photos of Sahyadri, but not allowed inside INS Kamorta ship.
-- The captain of the ship thoroughly explained about its capabilities.
-- My son was excited and he got a chance to hold a hand pistol (just 650 gms weight) and a machine gun at the Israeli stall. Israeli companies exhibited their UAV capabilities as well.
