For the benefit of our readers the first set of photos is the Patriots Aerobatic Team flying the Czech L-59 Albatross. They are a private team. I don't know what is it about an air show that it never fails to delight.

In a multi-ship aerobatic display the leader actually recites the maneuvers in the form of a sing song poem where certain words are the cue to execute a certain maneuver. The poems or song is composed by the crew and as can be expected has many colourful words. The training here is to sing or recite at the correct speed all through and of course to execute the moves exactly on cue. It is a dance.

Wonderful pics Tanveer! The flyby shot is superb.

I shot the Blue Angeles last month here in Seattle but wish I was a little closer to the show and at the right spot so I could listen to the commentary. They didn't perform the "heart" trick here but I've seen the Thunderbird's do that in Phoenix

Your thread brought back memories from 8 years back (10th October 2010), when I had the chance to watch the Blue Angels doing those gravity defying stunts. A good friend had invited me to join him and his family on his boat. We anchored the boat below the Golden Gate bridge, had barbecue and enjoyed the air show.

From the pictures, it looks like the show is almost the same today as it was eight years ago. I would like to share some pictures here to relive those memories.

Awesome log. I've seen the display of IAF Surya Kirans, Sarang Helicopters, the Mig Aerobatic team from Russia and the Skywalkers of Sweden (?). Quite refreshing to get an insight of how the yanks do it
