Tata Motors has launched a contest for truck drivers called 'Photo OK Please', wherein, truckers can win prizes by sharing interesting photos from their travel experiences.



A multi-lingual website has been setup for registrations with information about the contest. Winners will be announced on this website. To participate, truckers need to upload pictures to their Instagram account and tag @tata.trucks. Tata claims that 5,500 drivers from 21 cities have already submitted over 13,000 images.



Out of all the entries, a daily and weekly winner will be announced. The names of winners along with their photos, truck model numbers and location details will be inscribed on the pictures and shared on social media. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will receive holiday packages worth Rs. 75,000, Rs. 40,000 and a smartphone worth Rs. 25,000 respectively. Additionally, truckers can also win weekly prizes.

The first phase of the contest ends on March 30, 2019. The final winner will be announced in the first week of April 2019.

Tata is on a roll. This is one interesting initiative and a great idea. Just think about the roads they drive on and the experiences these Truckers have, living most of their lives on roads of this beautiful country. So many unexplored terrains - can't wait to see the photographs.

Lovely initiative; I thought this was for everyone to post pics of/with Tata trucks. But being exclusive to truck drivers

I sincerely hope this doesn't lead truck drivers/cleaners to resort to thrills to capture pictures. The selfie madness has resulted in tragedy often enough.

And compared to before, every trucker has a camera & internet connection now. Even sub-10k phones have half-decent cameras while a 4G connection is as cheap as it can be.

This is a superb initiative by Tata. Kudos to those who thought of this.

Truck drivers are the one group of people who have seen this vast country and its beautiful (and not so beautiful) landscapes in detail. I see a distinct change in TML's thinking and their willingness to reach out to their users and customers.

TML's new range of products and these contests reflect the move from a staid license raj company to what I hope will be a new, refreshed and energized PV and CV manufacturer. I for one will be watching this reinvention and evolution keenly.
