Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

I must be missing something, but why someone would buy it over Maruti Omni van? I thought it's the replacement for an autorickshaw, but it seems it's a car in price and carrying capacity but an auto in terms of power. I am pretty sure there is a reason behind this contraption, but I fail to see it.

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

How on earth can they price it so high? Its essentially a 90k rupee Pulsar 220 on 4-wheels with some fibre shell around it.

Should have been priced in the auto-rickshaw ballpark- around 2-lacs. It is expensive by 50k IMO.

Wish that's a typo.
I doubt if there will be any takers for this piece of plastic when Alto is priced around the same figure.

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

I hope this along with the age old rickshaw never finds any future buyers. We already have a great disparity in terms of road presence v/s acceptable horsepower. We've all gotten stuck behind two slow moving autorickshaws overtaking each other on the ramp of a flyover at 10-15kmph blocking almost everything behind them. These inefficiencies often leads to traffic jams and frustration for road users alike.

Hope Rajiv Bajaj comes up with something better and worthwhile rather than this contraption masquerading itself as a car!

And the market will learn to appreciate the engineering behind TATA Nano now!

Seriously shock pricing for the Qute. Why in the world does it cost the exact same amount as an Alto 800?

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

The only advantage for Qute over the Alto 800 is the mileage - 35kmpl to the Alto's 25 kmpl. But other than that I fail to see why anyone would buy this.

Begs the question - why was Rajeev Bajaj so gung-ho on the Qute? This thing makes less power than even most of the Pulsars in Bajaj's line-up!

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

A CNG car with 10hp output costing 2.83 Ex-showroom that too in delhi

What is next from Bajaj? A car with 100cc engine?
Had they designed this as a 2 seater car , and priced it atleast 1 lakh rupee cheaper, it could have been a decent buy for personal use.( Rather than a 2 wheeler ).

It would have created a new category of 2 seater cars.

Even TATA Nano CX is a good buy now since it will cost almost same, but is at least a car which is my opinion is even better than Alto 800.

That is precisely the reason why Qute is priced at 2.63L - to match the cheapest priced car. Unfortunately, there is no comparison between Alto & Qute (800cc vs 200cc, 40BHP vs 10BHP, 170-litre luggage space vs 20 Kg, 5 seating vs 4 seating).

Yes, a wasted opportunity, totally missed the market. Extremely poor product, at least the 1st version is shameful for Bajaj.

Disappointing! A 4 wheeled 10 BHP machine people or goods carrier. This is a massive FAIL Bajaj, you could have done so much better. You really expect people to buy this over a Maruti? If the Tata Nano, a better offering, could go the way of the Dodo this one will be heading in that direction too.

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

4 passengers (4 x 70 kg = 280 kg) + 20 kg luggage = 300 kg , plus the weight of the 'car', all driven by a 200 cc 13 bhp / 19 NM (peak) engine??
This thing's gonna roll back on flyovers on stop-n-go situation under full load - I am keeping clear of these contraptions on road.

Thanks for the calculations, but BAJAJ is confident since there are many who ride pulsars triple seat/ or even 4 people on bike, so no issues here

This thread will eventually turn out to be a big thread to bash CUTE, and already people have started talking about not being able to overtake this vehicle! No mercy, CUTE though sounds good, but deserves such bashing.

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

With the way Bajaj was touting the Qute as the replacement for the legendary Autorickshaw, anyone would have thought it would be a direct replacement for the auto in terms of pricing too, but Bajaj has just thrown a huge opportunity away by pricing what was a great product for the purpose in a segment where it has no place to be in.

Even if people buy it over cars like the Alto (which already aren't too safe) the safety of many people are at stake as these are City runabouts and people(who might not know what the vehicle is built for) are quite sure to take this on highway runs just as a normal car, unlike an auto which everyone understands is meant for the city.

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

So if I understood this correctly it is illegal to have more than two people ride a Pulsar 220 whereas this Qute with the same engine can legally carry four people and cargo too !!

Doesn't sound too cute. What am I missing?

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle priced from Rs. 2.63 lakh

Total waste of money and effort to design this vehicle and then price it at par with the highest selling car in the market. This kind of bad decision kills the spirit of workers, not sure how they arrived at this price. I just recall what I said about the pricing of XUV 300, "total disconnect between Engineering and Sales team". Ola may buy this vehicle at a highly discounted price later this year.
