A weird test mule of what appears to be a Force Motors vehicle has been spotted testing in Chinchwad near Pune. Under the makeshift bodywork, the company could be testing out new technologies and it may not be a prototype of an upcoming model.

The raked windscreen and top looks reminiscent of the Force Traveller. The engine appears to be mounted in front of the cab and the wheelbase also looks similar to that of the Traveller. The bed at the rear could be used to simulate different loads.

Looks like powertrain testing for BS6. The design must still be pending. Usually, the design happens first but they already have a powertrain for the engineers to test. perhaps the designers are tasked with bringing a brand new design to the table for the engine and chassis combo.

This vehicle in a strange way reminds me of the Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust from the older Top Gear episodes with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. lol:

PC: Topgear Fandom.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they've testing a crew cab pickup truck
clap:

It's an idea whose time has come for this country :uncontrol

How many of you noticed a Force one behind the test mule in the last pic?lol:

That looks more like a "Crude" cab than a crew cab.

Force engineers seem to have a sense of humor.

Cheers

I tend to think that this could be the case. The pickup portion may well have some equipment to capture live data.

I vaguely remember some article with Prasan Firodia saying that the Pune facility is developing a new platform for a bus which will be slightly bigger than the Traveller. Probably this is for that.

You do not even need that. Looks and exterior design do not matter when you are testing power train. You just need something to cover your power train and a seat for the driver during initial on the road tests.

It is already rusting and breaking away. Look at the front LH side fender, or what looks like a fender

Must be testing an engine or gearbox! I think they've just used metal sheets instead of the usual camouflage stickers.

There is no way that thing is making it to production!

One option could be - a competitor to the Tata 407 Pickup. The extended cabin could be a temporary one to house test equipment.

Or is the extension a camouflage of the final intended design. Right now we are all trying to figure out what can have double cab and a load body - esp with a vehicle of that size.

From the low height and rear cargo space I am wondering if this is a luggage mover for airports. Usually all runway transportation is quite low and has unusual designs to keep them from hitting the planes and facilitate easy loading and unloading.

Did they flick the doors from Swacch Bharat toilets?

God what a ghastly contraption - I guess they imagine they are reinventing vehicles.

I suspect this could be their EV tester, but still - even kindergarten kids draw better vehicles.
