Escorts Rider: Reborn Multix with 4x4 for rural areas

In its annual event Of 2019 Escorts showcased few upcoming products including Hybrid Tractor, Hybrid backhoe loader concept.

In the same event the company showcased an Rural Transport Vehicle concept based on Eicher-Polaris Multix named 'RIDER'.

Which will be launched in next 12 months with the price of 3.05L.

I really loved the Multix unfortunately before I could buy one for our farm it was killed due to low sale..

With 4wheel drive it will be more capable with than Multix.

& nationwide spares support for current owners of Multix.

Quote:
Adding to its engineering & innovation prowess, Escorts also offered a major highlight by showcasing India's first multi-utility Rural Transport Vehicle, RTV concept named "Rider" to address the required mobility in rural farming and hard terrain maneuvering.

The RTV will also enable applications in haulage, construction, agriculture produce logistics and various other utility segments offering a payload capacity of 750 KG and an optional fourwheel drive mode

A small runabout with 4wd and tractor reg from an established player sounds attractive.

I suggest you also checkout the 'Powerland' website if such vehicles excite you. That could be a viable alternative to the Multix.

Powerland is an ATV with bike like seating position.

While "Rider" aka Multix v2 is proper side by side, which is easier to drive.

I would prefer a car-like driving dynamics rather than bike-ish one..

Utility Vehicle (UTV), Side by Side (SXS)
A side by side utility vehicle (UTV) is simply considered an off-road vehicle in which two people sit beside each other. The seating configuration is the same as in a car or truck. You have a steering wheel, pedals, and a gear shift just like a vehicle. The UTV is larger than that of the ATV’s and typically costs a little bit more. Today these vehicles are made for Utility (work uses), Sports (Just plain fun), and in the case of the Can-Am Commander; a mix of both work and fun! To decide if it’s right for you, you should first determine how it will be used.

Re: Escorts Rider: Reborn Multix with 4x4 for rural areas

The Multix didnt succeed, and I am not seeing how will the Rider change that. A 3.05 L before tax/registration is quite likely to make this a niche vehicle.

However, one suggestion for the Rider: Make it a combination of tiller and transporter. This may just help it become a little more useful. The tiller unit is mounted along the center, behind the rear wheels. While tilling, a view of the tiller unit is required. For this, the cargo bay can be made modular to be removable. A 4x4 will be a bonus.

Re: Escorts Rider: Reborn Multix with 4x4 for rural areas

I would be interested in this. I hope that it gets s more powerful 2 or 3 cylinder engine, at least the 4x4 version.

Regarding the Powerland ATV, online review says it is road legal, can be registered as a tractor. But the specs do not confirm if the axles have a differential. Does anybody know?

Regards,

Still interested in this without any updates from the manufacturer. +1 for the 4x4 model.
I guess COVID-19 was the death knell for it.
