These feeder service has increased the reach to the Metro trains considerably and I have witnessed it person. CMRL was supposed to integrate themselves with the MTC and the plan never ticked off. It would have been a huge success.

I'm eagerly waiting for the feeder service from Airport to connect to Tambaram, instead of ending at Tambaram Sanatorium. They will see high footfalls to the metro.

Re: Interesting usage statistics of Chennai Metro's Last Mile Connectivity services

Interesting.

This last mile connectivity is badly lacking in Kochi. Now finally they (Kochi Metro) have woken up and tied up with KSRTC to run feeder buses to the airport. With the airport taxi union so powerful it will be interesting to see if this so called tie up ever gets off the ground. So far the biggest beneficiary for the metro seems to be (in my opinion) Lulu Mall as footfalls have increased and there is a direct entry to the mall from the Edapally metro station.

Similarly you pay 50 Rs to Aluva from Maharajas college in the metro and another 50 as Auto fare to Aluva railway station. Instead of concentrating on last mile connectivity the authorities want to do water metro instead!
