Mahindra Electric has launched a cargo version of the Treo electric 3-wheeler called the Treo Zor. It costs Rs. 2.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) after FAME 2 and state subsidies. It will be available at Mahindra small commercial vehicle dealerships in select cities across India from December 2020.



The Treo Zor comes in three variants - Pickup, Delivery Van and Flat Bed. It has a wheelbase of 2,216 mm, a loading height of 675 mm and a payload capacity of 550 kg.

The 3-wheeler is powered by an 8 kW IP67 rated electric motor that generates 42 Nm and is mated to an automatic transmission. It comes with a lithium-ion battery that the company claims, offers a driving range of 125 km on a single charge. The battery can be charged using a 15 amp socket.

The cab of the Treo Zor is made from modular SMC panels that are rust-free and dent resistant. It comes with features such as lockable glove box, 12V socket, 15-amp off-board charger, hazard indicator, reverse buzzer, economy and boost mode.



The Treo Zor is offered with Mahindra's NEMO cloud-based fleet management system. Using this system, owners can monitor the vehicle range, speed and location.

According to Mahindra, when compared to diesel powered cargo 3-wheelers, customers can save Rs. 2.10 / km in fuel costs. The vehicle comes with a 3-year / 80,000 km warranty.

This offers 125km range with 8kwh battery pack? that translates to 15km/kwh, which is crazy efficiency and am fairly sure that is without any load. Hopefully, the buyers of this are aware else they are going to be cross with Mahindra like many users of Nexon are with Tata for boasting 312km range.

In 2020, Amazon India had announced that its fleet of delivery vehicles will include 10,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by 2025, which is part of the company’s global commitment of adding 100,000 electric vehicles in the delivery fleet by 2030 in the Climate Pledge signed by Amazon.
