2021-piaggio-ape-e-city-and-e-xtra-electric-fx-range-3-wheeler-launch-what-to-expect

Quote:
Both electric three-wheelers are part of the company's new FX Range, which essentially mean Fixed Battery Technology. Compared to the existing Ape e-City, which comes with a swappable battery, the 2021 models will come with fixed batteries, and we have been told that it is mainly due to customer demand.

...the existing Piaggio Ape e-City is powered by a 4.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, and it can offer around 70-80 km range on a full charge...
Wonder what the actual range is? 40 Km? I do understand the demand for non-swappable batteries, imagine getting a used or fake battery pack when you swap out your new battery...

Re: Piaggio launches an electric 3-wheeler for cargo duties

I think this is a pretty interesting development for inner city transport of people and logistics. Not only it helps rickshaw / courier deliverers to reduce their TCO's, but also reduce the inner city emissions if adopted in a large scale. Esp. with drop shipping and online sales becoming more and more commonplace now-a-days.

This is a welcome move from Piaggio. Regarding range 90km is more than enough and within city driving speeds combined with stop-go traffic, there is pretty decent regeneration to not suffer from range anxiety.
