FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations) in its September retail report revealed that 40% of 3 wheeler sales are now EVs. While most of the EV sales are coming from relatively unknown local brands, EV 3 wheelers from brands like Mahindra and Piaggio are also selling in good numbers even despite limited availability.
Quote:
The 3W segment is now showing clear signs of tactical shift from ICE to EVs as the ratio has hit a 60:40 split. With offices and educational institutions slowly opening up, electrification of 3W’s will gather a greater momentum in months to come.

Hi,
With increasing electrification of vehicles in India one of the main topics which is not discussed is the rising trend of electric 3 and 4 wheelers which are being increasingly put in use. As per Indian Express article of 9th September one in every three wheelers sold in India is electric.
Tata has launched their electric T.7 Ace electric truck. Even Leblanc has launched two trucks with with 1.2 and 1.7 Mts payload capacities. I believe that e commerce will be one of the first to adopt this trend as well as short haul deliveries in the city. This should definitely help reduce vehicular pollution as well as reduce the noise levels.
