Winger looks great and can be used as a good Picnic vehicle. Does anybody know how the ride quality is?

The Winger.. reminds of the Tata Calypso. I cannot find any pictures of it online. I guess it was never mass produced.. am I right?? and was based on the Mercedes V Class??

Guys, magic has jeep like fabric at the rear?

Saw it, and it seemed like jeep like fabric attached to the luggage area of the Ace.

Tata Calypso was never produced, it was ahead of it's time. Tata was trying to build it on monocoque frame and had a lot of issues with the production of this type so it was shelved.

Yes you're right. Calypso was never mass produced. Yes, in terms of styling and concept, it was a Mercedes copy, like most Tata models of those days.

I really wonder what made Tata chose a discarded Renault model that isn't really much different from the indigenous Calypso. If the Calyso had some problems, Tata should have ironed them out.

If the Calypso was ahead of time, the Winger is behind time, by about a decade! (Exactly when did Renault phase out this model?)

Can you elaborate what the issues with Calypso were and why they could not be addressed by a company with the R&D infrastructure and capabilities of Tata Motors?

Oh Mon Dieu!

A decade old renault "tried and tested" design is better than Tata trying something on its own and make prototypes for 3 years before "perfecting" it.
Moreover, In the Auto manufacturer's business, getting design and dies of discontinued models is like getting stuff from the Gujri . "Cheap and beshT"
