Amazon's exclusive Rivian EDV electric delivery van fleet Couldn't find a thread on this, so I'm starting one.
It turns out Amazon had partnered with Rivian to build a custom EV delivery van. And they're now on the roads in the US.
There's three models — EDV-500, EDV-700, and EDV-900. The numbers are indicative of the size of the vehicles and are inversely proportional to their range, which is officially between 190 km to 240 km.
The following is an official video from Amazon:
There's also an unofficial video (or maybe paid for by Amazon PR people who knows) which talks more about the vehicle from a delivery driver's perspective.
From their official press release: Quote:
Amazon and Rivian plan to bring thousands of custom electric delivery vehicles to more than 100 cities by the end of this year, and 100,000 across the U.S. by 2030

Amazon has been testing deliveries with Rivian preproduction vehicles since 2021, delivering over 430,000 packages and accumulating over 90,000 miles. This significant testing has allowed Rivian to continuously improve the vehicle’s performance, safety and durability in various climates and geographies as well as its state-of-the-art features to ensure driver satisfaction, and overall functionality. Rivian has also completed certifications with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, California Air Resources Board, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

- A strengthened door on the driver’s side for additional protection, and an ergonomically designed driver’s cabin and cargo area for safe, and easy movement inside the van.
