SCOOP : Tata XENON Spy Pictures EDIT: Now launched

The owner of a very large commercial dealership confirmed that this is the TL replacement and it is slated for launch in the Indian market Dec-End / Early Jan. It will not be sold through the passenger car division. Dealers were recently invited by TTM to evaluate the truck and he said that it looked to be very promising. No word on price.

Why cannot Tatas do something creative? Isn't it enough of flicking? Look at their share of the scoop!!! They've got a spoon of it from others in the table, the Mazda, Toyota, Nissan and Ford.

outlaw but you can say that about the other carmakers you've just mentioned

sometimes it a copy of design and sometimes its a trend
for eg all the cars and pickup trucks were designed more or less similarly in every age infact it is only now that you might find rather unique looking cars

The Xenon was designed from scratch keeping 207 as a base. This I know from sure and I am not speculating...!

It looks a lot more harmonious than the M&M pick-up. I look forward to read a road and off road test of this gear.

guys any news about the dates... I know it's in dec or jan.. but anything more on this....

oh boy...

if you look a bit closely at the pics... there is either a silver or a white pickup parked in the background which has different tail lights as well as grey plastic bumpers etc...

this can mean one of either 2 things: the versions we see in the pics are the export model and the indian version is probably the bare bones one standing behind, or that tata is actually going to launch the vehicle as a lifestyle product as well.

i'm also assuming that they will put the 3.0 ltr lump into the bay, to help differentiate between the safari and this line.

i for one would happily plonk for this one if the engine and price are right, having major 2nd thoughts on the safari now that this is on the horizon... always liked the thought of having a pickup as my primary steed!!

Been looking at the TL for a while and this is def a better deal... looks great.... to be priced at around 8 lac for a 2 door and atleast in delhi unlike the TL can be registered as passenger.
this is gonna have a 3.0 Dicor engine to with it .......

The Xenon looks like the pick of the season. Been looking at the TL 4x4 for a while now. The Xenon is def ahead.
After snoping around a bit this is what i got from TATA's . this is for a 4 door version, which will be available as passenger unlike the TL which was sold only as commercial vehicle atleast in and around delhi. priced at 8lac with 3.0 dicor engine and launching around March - April 08

There seems to be confusion at Tata Motors. Just spoke to one of the executives who has mentioned a tentative 6 to 8 month time before the Xenon is launched!!
