Luxury & star taxis in India

India is growing on a very fast pase so as the Tourism & Star Hotel. The means of transport is improving with world class coaches, metros, new airways etc. Like wise the quality & standard of the Indian taxis are also came with lot of top end luxury cars & vans entering the fleet of taxi/rent-a-car operators and hotel fleet. Here are some of my contributions to this thread to begin with.

I was surprised to see a couple of new S500s & a Viano taxi plated cars at Hotel Imperial. They also have a large fleet of Ford Endevour.

At Caunaught Place, in front of a taxi operators office I saw a extended version of earlier 7, but driver was demanding some money to take its snaps, but won’t clear-up the other cars for a better view. Hence I shorted without his notice.

Come on man. This is nothing. Just spend half an hour at the airport. You'll see every conceivable taxi

Thanks hanmust, I have seen a lot of Camry's being used as hotel vehicles as well. Of course, the Mercedes and BMW's must be for those who are some class above the Toyota Camry riff-raff.

Yaar, we can run a weekly thread here - choose your exotic and we'll get a pic of it being used as taxi. How does it matte - same vehicle, yellow plate. No value add, saar.

That said, saw a Viano and a S350 latest one morning :0

All of these are imported duty free by the hotels under the EPCG scheme to promote tourism.

That Red ferrari was probably temporary registeration rather than a taxi.

It was not a TEmp registration. It was brought in using the EPCG scheme, hence the taxi plates. But I think the owner sorted it out by paying the duty later on.

If you zoom in on that pic , you can clearly see ' All India Permit ' written above the numbers
