Good old KSRTC "Super Delux" buses

G_BB please go ahead, even am hunting for the "Pista" SD bus pics hope to find it soon..

This was our regular bus to go to Hassan from Bangalore - at 4pm or 7pm..

as mentioned i guess it should be the recent once, i felt the older once had the lighter blue strip?

I used to hate this bus, this would be the option if we dont get the tickets for the SD hehe

This pic brings back lots of memories. Earlier, when there was the lighter blue with white stripe semi-deluxe service, IIRC it used to leave Bangalore at 3.00 pm to Hassan. I remember that this was a non stop service and the only bus with headrests (other red buses did not have head rests at that time).

When the colour scheme/design changed to the one shown in your pic, that bus was rescheduled to leave at 4 pm. Another bus would leave Hassan at the same time.

@addy: Bus from hassan would leave at 9am and 12pm. Same buses would return from bangalore at 4pm and 7pm. Non stop services with headrests - almost always ontime.. took less than 4 hours..

My bad. The 4 pm bus from Hassan that I mentioned was the next avatar of the one in your pic. This bus had the body of the old Super Deluxe buses and no pushback seats. And this was pretty fast too.

G_BB i think addy meant by the old SD(pista) buses being depromoted to semi luxuries before they were removed from the serive.

Old Sd buses was also used for BMTC services, they had removed all the seats and put the normal seats. around 93-94 they had inducted a bus to ply from Jeevan bhimanagar to Majestic(route no 138) duing my school days it was a bus which i used to wait for....

btw i dont remember seeing this bus at all?

Nope:( offlate have been noticing many bmtc buses with the type 2 front part of the SD buses, i always liked the first version of the SD buses was much elegant, the 2nd version with slight protruding face....

btw i think KSRTC depot at Majestic will have some pictures and maybe abus if they have something like a museum. anyone is keen in checking out? we can go on some weekend(sat)
