Here's a taxi from Madhya Pradesh. A very proud owner and well kept. Forget the modifications, it's done by a taxi driver and can be excused.

Aveo Taxi

I know I'm bumping into this thread like 1 month late, but here's a Chevy Aveo from BIT Mysore. The car quite neat for a taxi, and the driver was very decent, and wore his seatbelts outside Bangalore City Limits too.

I too liked it. It's some "mini cab" which is half of the cost per km compare to the normal one. But it really looked cool.

A 575M? You must be kidding.
Yellow plates go well with a Ferrari, don't they?

The ferrari had been a taxi ,i think maybe for about 4-5 years back.
Not really a taxi,a hotel owner made it to evade taxes(think under EPCG)
Anyways the authorities found it out, last heard it was running in bengaluru in private white plates. Yep, Cartman, some cars seem to go well with yellow plates and some in arabic plates.

What difference would it make if he didn't wear his seatbelts inside BLR? There's no seatbelt rule in the "IT capital"

i have lost count of pics of this car appearing in various threads across the forum,i know everyone will be surprised when they first saw these pics.i received this pic in email for first time in 2004

Also spotting places of this car,i have received emails with same pic spotted in almost all places in kerala. Now perinthalmanna is latest.

Now the exact place where this car's pic was shot is at Trivandrum TVS Sundaram Motors (mahindra dealer in tvm) compound. The car was getting ready to be loaded to a truck for transporting it to bangalore

As Dicky mentioned 575M was owned by a resort owner in tvm under EPCG scheme and car was bought from UK.This car spent a long time in courts and finally at Bangalore after paying out all dues.

Number plate is original,if needed please check the kerala RTO website

i think black number plates with yellow lettering means fleet vehicles.

look at that battered rick getting too close to the RR.

That s not a TAXI, my friend! (Yellow letters on black background) Those are cars that are bought at subsidised rates and mostly used for rental purposes.
