Something more interesting is the tatra has air cooled engine & the complete suspension is independent, Apart from BEML & tatra has a production plant in Hosur,

Hey amit
I have seen the powersteering on Pushkin's jeep. Infact that is the way they do it in mayapuri.
But in the army version the Bolero P/S is installed, which I think is much bigger than the KOYO ones available in the market. i just wanna see how it looks???

Is the silver and red thing in this post a P/S or smething else?? Its right on the front bumper next to the left fender???

Hi Harjeev,

I don't think the Army Jeeps come with Power Steering. There is a Bolero Unit with a much higher ratio which improves the steering comfort a lot. I think this unit comes standard on the Bolero and the Pik Up range. Arka has done this modification on his MM540 with some detail pictures in the thread.

Tata Sumo 4x4

I do not have any pics, but in Leh city I regularly saw a military green Tata sumo 4x4. It had the labels "On Indian Army trial" on the sides, and I think the Army was evaluating it on a trial basis for use up there.
From the body it looked like a spacio done up with a 4WD and bullet proof panes with holes for guns

There are four Spacios in Coonoor with the Army here. IIRC, its been here a while now. See it quite often.
