Strangely even the Omini is derived from a Suzuki pick up, very similar in size to the Ace, its still being made and sold in Pakistan with the 800cc engine.

This is based on the Super Ace.Interiors are also the same as on the Super Ace.
Tata really have a winner on their hands. The vehicle also looks very proportionate. The Ace was never a bad looker in the first place! But the 1.4 diesel is the real icing on the cake.Sure to be a commercial success!

those hazard warning light and power window switches are placed at a very awkward place.

reminds me of the old indica. not a right place to put these switches. its like going back in time.

majority of this will be sold in the rural markets.
about the omni which still does decent numbers i don't think it needs to be worried.
maruthi refinement in the engine is clearly visible and will be the choice of many families looking for a cheap car with good amount of space.

Tyre size??

Am I the only one who feels that rear tyre size is different from the front tyres like the Nano? or is it because of the surface??

Not for me, I thought that the front wheels were a bit raised because of some stones below. However the tires surely are bigger than the 12" ers on the magic.

The wheel wells look sufficiently filled but the tread appear to be narrow and I am still hoping that this thing is a monocoque.

This means they are targeting the commercial space only, in which case do they need such an upmarket dash? and power windows? They might as well try to keep costs low and try to price it as close as possible to the Omni. Just thinking aloud. Maybe sid could help out here.

Sigh... one wonder's why ...if the thing actually drives like a car, it can find some private buyers who have small budgets ....

Vey rightly said. People mover segment rarely looks for such features. May be they are targeting the call centre cabbies.
