Hi,

1 rake is operating 12 services since December 2017. 2nd rake based on train 18 design has arrived in Mumbai and is undergoing tests for certification.

3rd rake similar to 1st rake has arrived and is ready to be introduced in service in a week or two. The first rake, which is due for its periodic overhaul, will be withdrawn for the overhaul and 3rd rake will operate in its place. Once the first rake is back from overhauling, the third rake will be used to convert few more services to AC.

Re: Railway Pics

Not really images of the monstrous locomotives in action but I realised there were quite a good set of images from my drive to Lakya Viaduct, on the Chikkamagaluru - Kadur line. Back then during school and college days, we had never imagined a train would be chugging along these terrains.

Re: Railway Pics

Not exactly pics but a lovely article in this week's Hindustan Times Mint paper. I couldn't find a format of the article I could share here so downloaded and attached here.

The author takes a three-week journey (with a couple of breaks) from Assam to Kerala in trains, rather than a three hour flight.

Took the 6:03am Krishnanagar-Sealdah local from Barrackpore for 14 long years to get to school every morning. Clicked this picture on the last official day of school, in the winter of 2016.

Brilliant! The emotion evoked by this form of transport never will change, no matter what generation it is!

The second and third images are beautiful! Line to eternity. Would love to see train on this line.

I remembered this one as soon as you asked. The second half on the video shows a train chugging along at this section:

Have a look.

Re: Railway Pics

The Hyderabad MMTS chugging along towards Necklace Road station from Begumpet station, parallel to Necklace Road, near Jal Vihar.

Sorry for the hazy picture, as it was taken from the roof of my apartment's complex.

Loco classification of Indian locos is already explained in this thread previously. The IRFCA link provides info on what does each letter stand for. Wide guage (BG) DC Electric Traction Goods Train Hauling Loco; Model (in case of Electrics) 2

Description on WCG2 is provided here

Here you go.

This is the train that was dispatched mainly to drought prone Latur and other parts of Marathwada region.

Some pics of that train:
