Information from BSMotoring:
The Venture is going to be positioned slightly higher than the Maruti Eeco MPV. It comes with the option of six or eight seats. The middle row uses a one-touch lever so the seat can collapse, while the engine and transmission are placed below the driver's seat.

The Venture comes powered by a 1405cc IDI turbocharged engine with 70 bhp of power - the unit is borrowed from the Tata Indica. It has a five-speed manual transmission. The Venture chassis is based on the Ace 1 tonne chassis. The seating and window design is based on inputs from Ratan Tata. The Venture will go on sale in July 2010.

the venture would have look much better with the Winger front end . the curvy front somehow does not go well with the boxy van.

but With the disel enginge of indica this will surly top the charts for people move segment if proced correctly

had a chance to see the super ace on which the tata venture is going to be based upon. the interior of super ace looks pretty high quality for a tempo, that means venture will be even better.. really loved it.. it has the same steering as the new sumo grande mark 2

When I first heard about passenger variants on Ace platform, I was hoping a competitor for Omni would emerge. Magic Iris and Magic are replacements for Ricks and Venture is a people mover. None to take on Omni.

Does anyone have news on the Venture?
Last I heard was that the launch will be in August but nothing since. Tata needs to launch this quickly to revive its declining fortunes in the UV segment.

Tata insiders...any ideas...price..Launch dates?!!

After beating the Omni for its safety to death, we have more such designs on the road. Excellent.

+ 1 to that prince. If this car bangs something, the driver will bang first before the machine itself. Crazy design.

I think the myth that vehicles with flat fronts are death traps are primarily due to the Omini and the game has moved on since. Tata is a company that has maintained this as a priority from their truck making days.

The Ace truck (on which the Venture is based) has passed SIAM's crash safety standards set for the N1 class. In fact the Ace electric truck that was tested in the US (to be imported and sold by Chrysler) and passed the NHTSA tests, although this project seems to be scrapped.

Chrysler to import Tata Ace

Even M&M's Maximo, despite being a flat front has passed the domestic crash regulations,

Albeit, this does not mean it will be good as a sedan with a front crumple zone but will anyday be better than the likes of the Omini or M800.

This vehicle has a future if priced correctly. Winger looks disproportionate as a private van, but this will fit the bill. Plus modification opportunities would be endless. A small private lounge maybe on the move? Or a small recreational camper? Who knows what some of us would come up with depending upon our needs. Just hope that as an overall package it delivers.

Phenomenal job! Especially for tourist purposes the vehicle will prove tobe a boon. Looks like it is 'Fully AC'. Great job TATA, atleast, I will buy this one someday, after it's launch.

Dont know why. But looks good. the rear door on both sides wouldnt have hurt the design much but would make it more convienient. only thing they should make it bulletproof mechanically, not like the indica on its launch.
