To be honest, I don't see why water ingress in the air conditioning should short the electrical circuit - unless it impinges on the compressor or blower electrical contacts (which it shouldn't because the air never leaks out, so why should water?).

With respect to my post, I did not say it will short circuit the electricals, I wrote that it will ruin the HVAC system. I don't know if HVAC ssystems can handle so much of water passing through them.

Thanks even I just noticed the 1000 post "milestone".
Actually your concern is correct since water would be about 1000 times denser than air. But I think all the air ducting is anyway made with HDPE or aluminium or galvanized iron - which should be able to take the load.

Now remains the blower/fan. The blades may wear out, the motor will definitely get overloaded. But we are all just talking like the expert panel sitting on a 24hrs news channel beaming a "breaking news" and debating on what/how/whys of something happening.

The point is that it happened and continued happening and no damage occurred.
