Scoop::Mahindra Maximo Passenger Van

HI all,

I managed to get some pictures of the Mahindra Maximo passenger van tonight. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Apologies for the bad image quality.

Things to note:

Hard Top
Xlyo like rear door (actually, it looked like Xylo's door)
Xlyo tail lamp cluster
Noisy crude engine
Spacious cabin

This model didn't look like the final version but one of the semi urban versions as the middle portion did look like a canopy top but the rear end was hard metal (with a proper windshield)

Overall, I would say - Venture is better.

Mumbai. Seems like it was going into the Kandivali plant and was brought from Nasik (had a MH-15 TC number).

Great, even before the Venture comes out, competition is getting ready. The 1.5 L diesel from the Logan would be a good choice for the Maxximo based van. The smaller engine which goes into the truck would be too crude for the passenger vehicle market IMHO, unless its targeted at the Ace Magic.

Although Crude, it had spacious interiors. As mentioned earlier, I feel this would be more targetted at the Magic and then once it is a success, a luxury variant may be lauched to compete against the Venture. As of now, Venture gets my votes.

I feel Mahindra should modify the front of the Maximo a little and make this as direct competition to VEnture instead of gunning for Magic.

Its personal opinion but i feel Maximolooks a bit too chinese styled from the front than the ACE/Super Ace/Venture front styling

I also spotted something like this yesterday on WEH near datta pada flyover. It was going towards Dahisar. It passed by in a flash, so I could not note more details.
