Actually i read and even have seen a month ago one electric switch in stallion that engages 4x4. It does have the option to disengage front axle. By the way where did you find this source? We might be talking about different marks or models, the current is mark 3 and mark 4 is under construction as the VFJ employe told me on phone. It is also said on their website too. please check this link, i could be wrong.

shootsingh, looking at your attitude, I guess you should wait for a shakthiman to turn up. A project based on Tata / Al would be construed as a glorified jeepney.

The outer contours of the cabin would have to be straight; to match the driver's cain. but on Tata / Al, I guess you could use curvy contours.

Fingers crossed on shaktiman as my initial source for this info was a dealer in jallandhar. They dismantelled few of them some time ago, so seems like another piece would come one day.

Guys anyone in pathankot ???
I need a contact for a scrap dealer. They are the agents who can help.
Sman would only be found in pathankot.

Re: Shaktiman or Ashok Stallion for my 4x4 Motor Home?

Shoot,

There is this gentleman called Marwah who has advertised for disposal trucks all over the net. Try him. 09999593233.

I am looking for a 4x4 2.5 tonner. Same ambition. 4x4 campervan.

This link is also very informative.

Re: Shaktiman or Ashok Stallion for my 4x4 Motor Home?

Guys, there seems to be a person who has been collecting old military trucks in India. And also seems to have a museum of it.

The trucks include ShaktiMAN trucks as well. If anyone have further details can you please post it here. Thanks in advance.

If you pull this off, then it will be no less than a coup!

This is a brilliant idea. A truck would make an ideal motor-home and with 4x4, you have no limits to where you can go. The saving on Hotel room bills might itself make this a profitable venture
