I had a word with Aman of Motor Concept, Kirti Nagar regarding this and he conveyed the Voltage issue. He also told me that they install in a different manner, for cars especially from VAG Stable try the High End Installers and never the Mass Market ones!
Thank you.

I did research this issue afterwards as the reverse cam worked perfectly when the car was on accessory mode but flickered off once it was started. There are several tutorials online that address this issue but there are no concrete solutions. One solution is to provide a relay or some sort of current stabiliser/ condenser but this didn't work. Another solution is to get power from another source rather than the reverse light and then provide a relay from the reverse light. This is what we did. No wires were cut though. Simply another fuse was added to a slot that turned on only with ignition/ acc and then a relay was taken from the reverse light to turn the circuit on. This solved the issue to some extent. The camera now flickers with the car being on but works most of the time. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. However I don't want to risk any further messing around as the power window issue has been fixed and the wires were checked and found ok by VW. It is very risky to try any modification to such cars as it can lead to a million problems. In the light of hindsight, I wouldn't have installed the reverse cam.

Perhaps I will check with Aman one day as well. The install was done by Driven.

Re: Friendly Neighborhood Garage (FNG) - Imtiaz & Ayub (New Delhi)

Thanks SST for posting this here.

Recently went to Imtiaz to get a relative's 2006 Swift (P) serviced and a clutch overhaul. Gave the car around 12 noon and got it back by 6:30 pm as promised. Everything done as promised with MGP parts and definitely saved a neat packet by avoiding the authorized service centers. Work done was good and will definitely be visiting him again in future.

My 2007 Alto is up for an overdue 50k service. Is Imtiaz able to perform the following tasks and source MGP Parts or do I have to bring the parts to him

1. Clutch Overhaul
2. Engine Tuning
3. Suspension Check
4. Denting and Painting

Also what would be the ballpark figure that he would charge.

I used to get work done on my Wagon R from Ayub about an year back. The clutch overhaul was done from them and I was very satisfied with it, still runs smooth. Now I have shifted to Gurgaon so no more visits to GK 2.

I am sure they can do Engine tuning and suspension work too just not sure about denting and painting. They can recommend you someone nearby but I suggest you ask around for a good one.

My Santro steering is making noise while turning. Also the AC stops cooling in bumper to bumper traffic.

Will go and check out with him coming week and update here.

OK, so I went there. Asked for Imtiaz.

He is not there and left Delhi for his hometown some 4-5 months back.

Got the car checked by one Sardarji, who said he needs whole day to work on the car for suspension which seems to be the culprit. Costs unknown as it will depend on the work involved. Also he asked me that I can get the parts from Batra Or Ghai if required during the day.

Does that mean Imtiaz has left Delhi for good? I had tried his number a few months back but that wasn't in service anymore.

Yes, that's what it seemed like when I had inquired there.

You need to try someone else if his phone is contiguously not available.

Or if someone who stays closeby can share an update.

Imtiaz is back in Delhi, and currently working. Likely to go back for an unspecified time to his village again in the middle of January. If you have any pending work, this is the time to get him to do it.

He's had an unfortunate experience with a criminal in his village (I'd prefer you don't share details in public or ask him directly when you meet him - it's saddening enough for him anyway), and is forced to stay there for extended periods in his effort to get justice. Let's pray that he does get justice soon.
