Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Since long my Punto 90 HP had been demanding service attention and I finally decided to take her to WoS.

Since the car had aged reasonably World of Service advised me to get the entire car examined. They call it preventive maintenance. The car was graciously put on the elevator and examined for:

1. Corrections - Diagnosing existent issues
2. Preventions - Diagnosing imminent issues

They made a comprehensive list and suggested some preventive maintenance be carried out with the corrective one so that I could save on the labor charges. A final list was created and a plan was drawn (since I could not do without the car for long they scheduled multiple visits over the next two months). The final list included some preventive maintenance activities and excluded a few (things that could wait e.g. they inspected the shockers and excluded them).

In the first month I got the following jobs done:

1. Regular Service
2. Fixing minor niggling issues
3. Suspension - the components changed were Link Rod, Lower Arms, Shocker Mounts
4. Brake Pads Changed

The next month, she underwent AC Repair and long due Clutch repair. Thanks to their "Night Service", the work finished way before I expected it to, for a change

She is running like a charm now and I am extremey satisfied with their services and professional attitude. While the FNGs and Service Centers have a nasty reputation of fleecing customers, WoS comes as a welcome change.

I was visiting them after a long time and I noticed a lot of improvements and changes around. To mention a few:

1. Increase in number of lifts
2. They have got their own paint machine
2. Bigger and better customer lounge
3. They are offering Projector and Headlamp Upgrade solution - I plan to gift my punto a set of these
4. Longer working hours and Night Service for Cars- this is something that is going to be a huge hit among working people like me who only have one car.

I also spotted a variety of brands being attended to - regular Hondas, Toyotas, Hyundais, Marutis, Skodas, Audis, VWs and Fiats along with some hard-to-find ones like Mitsubishi Cedia, Toyota Qualis, Fiat Adventure, Skoda VRS, Tata Safari 3.0, VW Beetle and an old timer Fiat Palio 1.6.

Pros:
1. Good Diagnostic Skills
2. Multi-brand Skill Set
3. Good Technical Skills
4. Good Tools - like scanners etc.
5. Small handy devices like Brake oil tester and other testers
6. Genuine and Professional

Con:
At times they take long to give your car back; sometimes longer than their committed time but the upside is they would not deliver the car if they are not satisfied themselves.

I am happy to see WoS becoming car enthusiasts' den. Keep up the good work!

Will I go back to them? Hell yes!

Note: If you have a problem locating them, search for World of Service on Google Maps.

Here are a few clicks I did:

World of Service Noida has moved to A17, Sector 67, Noida. This is a much larger facility with much more parking space and working bays and the physical infrastructure is slowly being upgraded in a better way. For customers coming from NH24 side its only 1.5 km more driving.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

My brother's Fiat Linea broke down while coming from Lucknow. After contacting and getting it checked by the local mechanic at Mathura (where the car broke down), he was informed that the timing chain has broken and cannot be fixed here due to non-availability of the spare part.

So, I went there and towed him back from my Swift VDI. The time was beyond 7pm till I entered Greater Noida, but i had called the WOS Garage to keep the car with them and diagnose the issue. I was informed that the address has changed and they have moved to - A17, Sector 67, Noida.

But i was glad that their mechanics came to meet us enroute, to guide us to their new workshop. Also, when we went their they called Ola Cab for my brother and helped him to transfer the luggage to the cab. I was very glad to see that beyond the work hours they were just waiting for us to arrive.

Thank you once again WOS Team, keep up the good work.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

I have just concluded repairs on three cars at World of Service.

About two months ago, my car had to go to WoS to get the axle repaired. The axle had to be opened up and repaired instead of replaced (since replacement is expensive).
I had borrowed my FIL's car for the two days to manage while my car was away. Bringing it home on the first evening, within 15 minutes of borrowing it, a 16 year old on a scooter ignored my indicator and everything else and decided to overtake me from the left and hit the rear bumper, tail-gate and LH tail lamp. The front of his Scooty was a mess and he had minor scratches. I did his first-aid but didn't let him go till his mother arrived. But, now, I had two cars in the service centre, including a pristinely maintained borrowed car damaged while under my care, which was such an embarrassment for me!

A visit to the Tata ASC came with usual issues of availability of parts and a 4-day timeline. Also, I wasn't sure of the quality of the painting. I turned to WoS since their painting work is very good.

The Bolt was repaired to satisfaction. The bumper and tail-gate were dented / repaired so well and painted so well that it is as good as new. It took 4 days and thankfully the parents of the errant driver paid for it!

Within two weeks of this, I had to send my sister's car, the Baleno for a round of bumper repair and painting. The Baleno CVT, though an excellent car overall as a city car, has paper thin body panels and bumpers that get bent or dented at the drop of a hat.

Finally, I had to get the following work done on my car (Palio Multijet):
1. Axle repair
2. Replacement of leaking oil cooler
3. Regular Service, Coolant tank cleaning and coolant replacement and glow plug replacement
4. Opening, de-rusting of the nut-bolt arrangement that holds the brake pedal as it was not coming back to its normal position fully and remaining stuck.

There has been a lot of work on all three cars combined over the past two months. Work has been carried out as per satisfaction and prices have been reasonable. The new place has much more capacity and a dedicated AC customer lounge, two washing bays, four lifts and more space to move around, infrastructure being developed quickly.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Called twice in 3 days, spoke to Anupam the first time, said would call back with estimate within an hour, but no call back received. Called again after a day, someone picked up (not Anupam), he too said will callback within an hour, but again no call received.

Now i am confused weather to take their service if this is how its been even before giving my car.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

My experience, unfortunately, was similar on two occassions and consequently I never went to WOS.

First time, I called, spoke with Anupam and fixed a time. Left office early and started driving to WOS which was 1.5 hours away. Tried calling Anupam all the time while driving to WOS to confirm that I was on the way but got no response. Finally, when I was about half an hour away, someone did pick up the phone and after asking a lot of questions about which car, what was needed to be done, etc. told me that Anupam was not available and it could not be confirmed when he would be back. This was about 6.30 pm so I turned back. At about 8 pm, I get a call from Anupam asking if I was coming over.

Upon my telling him that I had turned back after speaking whoever had responded on his telephone, I was told that the number was common / diverted (something to that effect) and not necessarily with Anupam all the time. Gave him the reference of a Bhpian and was told to call Anupam on another number the next time I wanted to come over.

Second time, there was no response on the 'direct' number provided by Anupam. Sent an SMS and got no response to that either so I just gave up.

I understand that WOS has an excellent setup but, at least for me, Anupam's communication was terrible.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Forgot to update it yesterday.

Got a call from Anupam yesterday only. He explained why he missed calling me back which seemed fine. At the end i was able to get the estimate i was looking for. I even got the comparison of the prices if i get it done from Mahindra A$$. Told him that i would be coming down first to show the car in person before going ahead with the work, and he acknowledged that he would be there in person for the inspection. Will be going somewhere in mid August as i need to have my car with me rightnow.

Will update as things move on.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Hi I would like to thank Anupam and World of Service on timely helping me on my return trip back from Ghaziabad to Kolkata.
My Honda civic was standing at home in Ghaziabad and just a day before I had to start for Kolkata, the AC was found to be not working, immediately I took the car to World of service, in the inspection it was found that that power to the condenser was not coming through. Checked with some friends all said the problem could take a lot of time to find the faulty wire (suspected rat work), I left the car with world of service fearing loss of a day, also I had to join office back and since was the trip was non stop I had no time to waste. Trusting Anupam and his team, I was pleasantly surprised later in the day that they had resolved the prpblem.
Kudos to Anupam and World of Service.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Went for the routine oil change at new location of WOS at A17, Sector 67, Noida. Now this location is easily accessible and lot bigger too.

Service as usual top class. Tried the new oil this time LiquiMoli. They are also distributors for UP.

Sharing some pics...

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Now that my stint with the Palio Multijet is about to end, I have to mention that it has been maintained at World of Service Noida almost exclusively in the past two and half years and fifty thousand kilometers. Though it has been a very demanding phase for the car bother in terms of time and money, WoS has provided the support I needed to keep it running. My dependence on them with the new car will be lesser as I will be using the Authorised Service Centers of Mahindra, but I will be watching where they go from here in great detail. I wish them all the best and thank them for the effort on my car so far. I think this is definitely a must-try place for those looking at an alternative.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

A new update of the World of Service - they have got 5 new Lifts and wheel alignment now, also they have added few other features in their workshop. This shows that the WOS Team has been listening to the feedback of the customers and also they are progressing to provide better customer service. I wish them all the best to grow more and be more helpful to us.

Why not call Service Advisor Zakir and ask? Or else try and speak to parts and consumables incharge Mr Manish. WoS numbers are on the website / facebook page /google.
