That is steep !

AC service costs around 1000-1200 Rs at AC specialists FNGs.

First labour charge is for AC, and the second one is for Alternator. Since he charged for the AC gas and oil during first AC service, he didn't charge for it again. The total bill was 20,500 including rubbing and polishing (using 3M compound). The final amount paid is 19,500 so, the discount can be from any of the cost heads.

Cheers,

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Recently visited WOS to get my Linea serviced (65K kms). The service work along with replacement of brake pads was completed in 2 hours flat.

Satisfied with the work done.

It was also good to see that WOS mechanics now have uniforms which gives the garage a more professional look.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Cars or corporates, everyone needs a working "self starter" and while one needs behavioral change for the latter, there is a need for a specialist to fix the former.

Blowing one fuse after another and giving away bang in the morning when one is decked up for a crucial presentation at office 60 kms, 3 states away is not something one wants. That's what happened a few times on my 2012 Manza Aura and was diagnosed as a faulty "Self starter".

"World of Service" came to the rescue as always. I was offered to get the car picked but why leave a chance to visit?

At the workshop, while the Technician was confident of repairing/servicing the part, I wanted to get a brand new put to avoid recurrence. As luck would have it the new Self Starter, despite having the same Make, all numbers matching, there was a difference in design. Only choice left, service and reuse the original.

Post service, the starting sound changed to as good as new and I was a happy man once again. 3 months have passed since and I haven't faced an issue. Appreciate the feedback calls inquiring all okay, technician's confidence in their workmanship and quality of output.

Even i faced a starter issue with my Punto MJD a couple of months back. Oberoi Fiat quoted 11k for starter replacement(that was their only solution to this). Anyhow wanted to go to WOS but its just that Oberoi Fiat is on the way so stopped by to get their views on same. The electrician with WOS didn't say anything except let me check. He opened the starter and thoroughly cleaned few parts and put it all back in. Ever since then that issue hasn't popped up again.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Some long due updates. After my positive experiences, a few friends have landed up at WoS for their automotive needs as well.

A friend got his Pajero thoroughly inspected after a gruelling Zanskar trip. The lift helps massively for that. The alignment and camber was off which WoS managed to sort out very effectively.

Another friend had a break-down in his Manza due to a busted clutch slave cylinder. One call to WoS and he was promptly provided a tow service in a few hours. New cylinder and general service conducted in the subsequent 24 hours.

I've also been sticking to WoS for misc. work on the Safari and those ever so frequent niggles. Everything gets sorted without any fuss.

I had basically a new AC install on my Zen from them earlier in the year. After some initial painful delays and hiccups, i am glad to say its got me through the peak NCR summer very comfortably and WoS has provided unconditional support and responsibility for the work ever since.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

I know World Of Service before it even opened. I used to visit them regularly when they were in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. The team is very skilled and helpful. The best part which encouraged me to visit them again and again is the knowledge they have. The explanation of the issues in the Vehicle is simple yet detailed which makes it easy to understand. Another part (which I love the most) is that you can sit with the mechanic and see them working on your car and even ask them questions about the work which they performing or even participate. One would not get this privilege in any of the authorized service center.
Long before World of Service opened the workshop I had the privilege of visiting the site before the set up, no not that I am associated with them in anyway, just that once I started going to them for the work on my Swift I stopped visiting MASS; reason - trust, transparency, teaching which I got in World of Service.
Now let’s talk about the work and the workshop. Its big and yes there are lot of things which can be implemented out there and I am sure World of Service would do it as they progress. Let me remember what all they have – lift, alignment, denting painting, electrical, rust removal, car detailing, washing, AC servicing/installation/maintenance, engine overhauling, etc. I had a problem with my swift front left side, some ‘thud’ sound, so when consulted with World of Service they informed me that the lift has been installed so let us check the reason for the sound. When I reached their Swift was straightaway taken to the lift from the entrance and was placed on the lift. Within 30mins the problem was diagnosed and solution provided. The best part I was there under my car and saw what the problem is myself and they made me understand about the probable cause and the solution for it, it helps a lot in learning about your machine and knowing the faults and the remedy.
Few days back I went for normal servicing and checkup of my Swift to them. The mechanics themselves checked the lights, bulbs, working, sound, brakes and any underbody issue. The check they provided was very satisfactory, they removed all the tyres to check the suspension and the disc. The brake pads and shoes both were worn out so I got it replaced. Person like me likes to get his hand dirty with his machines, and yes I enjoy it and World of Service does give me that privilege and even guides me for the things which I want to do. So I enjoy getting my car pampered over there. I would like to wish World of Service all the best in future and to maintain the quality and standard which they are maintaining in their work.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

I also had a great experience at World of Service recently.
The horn on my Jetta had stopped working and VW needed a week's time to source the part! Being in Noida, I remembered reading several posts about this FNG. I called them but unfortunately they were closed that day. They invited me to come over the next day.

The owner/ manager, Mr. Anupam is very professional, polished and gracious. He is quite knowledgeable about cars and took a lot of time to identify and rectify the issue. They had generic horns available but that would imply slicing the wires as the connectors wouldn't fit in the original VW plugs. I was hesitant to do so as this increases the chance of short circuit and water damage etc. The owner and the mechanics took a lot of time to explain the process to me and when I still hesitated, they tried to arrange a work around. They tried to source a connector that would be compatible and when that was not possible, they tried to make their own connector using other spare parts available in their garage. Three of their main mechanics spent over an hour trying to make a connector to enable me to keep the original connections. Unfortunately it wasn't possible and they gave me an option of waiting as they would source the compatible horn for me. However I was in a hurry as it is difficult to survive without a horn in India and I decided to go ahead with the wire splice. They did a good job and took several precautions like adding rubber sleeves over taped connections to prevent short circuit and water damage. The job was not hurried in any way.

The charges for parts and labour were very reasonable. I was very satisfied with their work, professionalism, knowledge as well as the cost of the repair. World of Service seems like a great place for routine servicing, engine and clutch jobs, denting and painting and other similar repairs.

Do these guys to denting and painting?

My rear bumper is coming off from left side due to a hit by another car while reversing near my apartment car parking.

Yes they do. I had visited them last weekend and they had just redone a S10. Looked absolutely gorgeous. Do speak with Anupam before you go so that he is there to assist you or can depute someone.

Actually I would say denting and painting is their speciality. I had visited there recently as I was interested in getting the Safari rear door repaired(bad rusting).
There was already a safari there for repair with severe body shell rusting, and the job was coming out nicely. Will be going there once rains are completely over as its a 3-4 day job.

Well that's interesting, I am having some rusting issues with my Adventure, will go and check them this weekend.
I am curious on how is the rusting treated from increasing it further.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

After referring family and friends, it was the turn of my Laura to visit WoS and i am happy to report that i am very very happy with the outcome of the jobs done.

1. Spring change(s)- I have H&R lowering springs on my car along with the Blistein B6. Due to some reasons had to go back to stock springs. WoS carried out the job wonderfully well and while doing so we found out that the axle assembly on the right hand side had a smaller bearing broken inside. Checked with Skoda and as expected their reply was to change the axle. Anupam's sourcing team took 4 days but got me the right part and she drives as beautifully as always! top notch work for 1/4th the price quoted by Skoda. Then a week later Laura's duty were once again restricted to NCR- and i am back to the lowering springs- Done at WoS. The lift surely helps with this and the springs were changed in an hour and a half.

Word of caution: In case you need to use the lift, take a prior appointment.

2. Roof leakage- Thanks to a massive dog problem and the City/BMW and Mercedes being parked inside the house, the Laura has to be parked outside. Dogs tend to climb on the roof and one of them managed to chew off the antenna and its base, due to which water crept inside and during a particularly heavy shower, we saw some leakage on the right rear seat. Again the team was quick to identify the problem and fixed it for me.

The car was at the workshop for issue 1 for 6 days and i was given updates atleast twice a day. The car was returned spic and span with a wash and wax and i wasnt charged for it. Neat touch!

I highly recommend the place. They are a honest and sincere bunch of guys. A paint booth and second lift are being installed soon i am told by Anupam.

Disclaimer: Not associated in any manner, just a happy customer!

Cheers
Rohan

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Has anyone got the service or electrical job done from them on Fords?

Due to weird location of fusebox and wiring, many local auto-electricians are not confident.

I need to get daschcam hardwired on 2011 Endeavour and 2014 EcoSport. They can do it?
