Try European Motor Works at Udyog Vihar(Just google the location). They are good for Mercedes, Audi, BMW kind of cars.

I got my Skoda Laura serviced from them few days back, they were better than any of the Skoda dealers I have ever visited.

You can certainly give WOS a try. They have had experience with Audis and Jags previously. Plus changing discs and pads isn't a complicated task. In fact they had a vintage beetle for some partial restoration when last i was there.

Your final review awaited.

Here is my not so good experience. After having two of my cars serviced from WOS, I can certainly say this place is pretty overhyped. Lack of communication, missing timelines, not completing all the works mentioned in the job card, trial & error jobs, not very transparent with the billing and steep charges for a FNG were some of the key factors. Most of the staff including the mechanics seemed to be fairly novice & had to really coax Anupam to deploy some senior guy to the task (couldn't find more than 2-3 guys who seemed experienced enough).

Even the very much adviced & advertised EGR service is not worth the amount of money they are charging. Almost 6k's were spent for EGR & Intercooler cleaning, but the difference in performance was very very negligible.

I find it very hard to believe post my experience that how come they handle more expensive & complicated work. I would really think twice before trying them again in the near future. So the search for that perfect FNG continues..

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

I wanted a 130/100W headlamp upgrade for my Thar. A colleague of mine suggested Anupam Shukla's World of Service, Noida. I wanted the Hella relay with double fuses, and wasn't comfortable dealing with online/local spare part shops as fakes rule the market. Since I was in Delhi for a short duration on a work assignment, a reliable place that could also source genuine spares was high on my list.

Called Mr. Shukla on a Friday evening, and he assured me that he could source a genuine Hella relay. I was given an appointment of 1130 AM on a Saturday. I was there at the said time. The upgrade took about 40 minutes. Mr. Shukla put one, Salman, on the job. Salman did a great job with the wiring, neatly concealing the harness in the area between the headlamp and the bonnet.

Cost: Rs. 850 for the relay, and 350 for the installation. Though WoS doesn't encourage people from bringing parts from outside, Mr. Shukla was kind enough to accommodate the 130/100W Philips bulbs that I had already bought.

An hour and half later, I was on my way. It was a completely hassle free experience and talking to Mr. Shukla about cars was quite enjoyable.

Cheers,

Jay

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

This is an update on the service provided by World Of Service 25th of April 2016 on my friends 2010 Punto 1.4.

My friend went to WOS as per my recommendation as i found out the service centre to be good enough compared to others in the vicinity.

He gave his Punto for a routine service at 69k kms at WOS. Listed below are the jobs which were told to them to check and complete and the updates on the same.

1. Warning on the cluster due to fused fog lamp. The fog lamp was replaced but error is still showing.

2. Engine check light stays on all the time. Nothing was scanned and no errors were checked or deleted.

3. Cabin Noise - It was rectified at the moment of delivery of the car.

4. Headliner was hanging on top of the rear seats. My friend had told them to see and fix this. Not rectified.

5. Wiper motor was not working. It was told that either the motor is busted or there is a problem with the fuse. Nothing was rectified.

6. Windscreen had to be changed because it had cracked. They apparently didnt have a windscreen for the punto. I wont blame them for this as Anupam promised to get this done soon.

7. The discs were skimmed as i understood from my friend. It says "Disc Brake turn" on the invoice. Here they made a major goof up. They took the discs out from the hub and while putting them back, they didnt tighten the discs properly. Next day my friend had to drive down till shimla for a family vacation. Just as he entered the hills, his steering wheel started to shudder and he could feel the play in the car's front end. He stopped at a local mechanic and that's when he realized that the discs are not tightened properly. This could be a major disaster . Anyway, this was sorted with the help of a local mechanic.

8. AC was not cooling effectively. Even this was not checked.

I am attaching the invoice which was given to my friend. In the end, he had to spend 19k for a service in which not one of the issues were attended to. He says that Anupam didnt check his car and only his boys handled the car.

Yes, i am extremely disappointed with WOS because i recommended someone to this place as it was a heaven for FIAT owners but seeing this happen has taken my trust away.

I tried calling Anupam a couple of times before posting this but it seems no one bothers to pick up there phones at WOS. I tried almost 7 times on both the numbers.

I dont have anything against WOS or Anupam but i feel they are not the same anymore.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Very high labour charges indeed. I am surprised, coolant hoses, thermostat had to be changed and separate labour for each! When i had got some work done almost an year back, it was quite reasonable; for various reasons I was not able to go back. I had sent a few of my colleagues as well, twice I personally referred, and a few times, with no reference. Not perfect but still a good job done most of the times.

But I see routine service is more expensive than that at ASS. Stuff like brake pads and disks; replacing these are fairly simple jobs, and shouldn't command as much labour.

I am worried about the coolant; FIAT uses OAT coolant and in a few cases I have known, mixing local or non OAT coolant has led to deposition, coagulation and subsequent blockage of the radiators and thermostats. (Unless fully flushed, i.e. even the residual 2 liters in the engine block, OAT and non OAT is not to be mixed). Chance of trouble! 350 a liter coolant, is not the one recommended by FIAT. I only hope a full flush has been done. FIAT engine will accept a different brand or even spec of engine oil, but NOT coolant. Surprising? Yes, it is.

Everything said, maintaining and running a huge prime location, 10 mechanics and a few SA, despite passion for cars, can't be charitable and definitely not cheap. The weakest(strongest) link is the trust; between the owner and the man Friday! In any such enterprise! I hear too many negatives these days, on what seemed like "the go to" place. Honestly, had a whiff of this coming, when there was an insistence by the SA, on using only a particular brand of consumables with only qualitative hype and no particular technical advantage!

So a quick update. I got a call from anupam regarding the above posted issue and he did admit to the things which were missed during the service period. He has promised to solve each and every issue. The main problem was that they were overloaded with cars that time.

Let me clear about the brake discs. It was actually the link rod bolt which was loose and not the brake disc itself. Anyway it shouldn't have happened.

I am hoping that the issues would be sorted to the full satisfaction and I am happy that anupam responded quickly. I shall keep you guys updated.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

I was at WOS recently with my 4.5 year old Honda Jazz. Had contacted Anupam through whatsapp a day prior and he insisted that i come at 11:30 AM. I reach there by 11:45 AM to find some meeting going on. Nobody came to me asking what was needed. Later, i made my someone aware about my arrival and was told to wait for 5 mins. In this quick discussion, i enquired the labour cost for service and was quoted 1600 Rs. I pointed out that it was too high, but i was told to wait for 5 mins and then we can discuss about pricing. By now the time was 12:30.
The SA came to me when i made him aware that i was still waiting, after discussing labour charges for normal service which was 1600 Rs,which was much higher than what Honda charges, i told them to simply do an oil change and an oil filter change and nothing else. To my surprise, the labour cost for this simple 10minutes job was 1100 Rs. Reason given was that they have to put the car on the lift. When i made my displeasure felt, Anupam came from his very important meeting and cited reasons such as-
1. They need to put the car on the lift.
2. They need to do some mandatory checks, which could not be explained to me.
3. They have to cover the case of the car developing a problem after the oil change()
Frustrated, i left in disappointment. Went to Ace Honda next day, engine oil, oil filter, and normal service done for 3000 Rs, WOS quoted slightly less than 4000Rs.
I feel, they might have had an edge earlier, but now, they are losing on two fronts-
1. Price
2. Customer satisfaction.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

I have a Linea T-Jet Plus and it had a AC failure this summer.
I took the car to Anupam at World of Service. I was skeptical initially (based on mixed reviews here) whether to take the car or not to a non-FASS, but it turned out to be a pleasant experience for me and the car.
The first thing which attracted me was Anupam's own collection of Fiat cars. So I decided to give it a try. The cooling coil was changed and the AC has been a chiller ever since, I am writing this review after getting the job done since last two months so that my review is not a biased one on using the AC for 2-3 days.
Other issues in the car, like a cold start problem were sorted by cleaning starting coils and it even gave me a performance boost in terms of better acceleration. Also my brake fluid was tested and was found high on water content and was changed in a professional manner.
Another service which I availed was dry cleaning of the car and I do not remember when I had seen my car so clean last time, despite getting it dry cleaned else where. One special mention is that my hand brake cover's lock was broken and Anupam and his team made all efforts to save my bucks and fixed the existing one with a myriad of tricks and its still put.
I would say I am thoroughly happy with the place and Anupam's enthusiasm of cars made me trust the place. Though on service charges it may be a bit high, but then if my car is happy and I am happy , I do not mind that , if its not too very high.

Kudos to the entire WOS team , keep up the good work. Will visit for my next periodic service for sure. Will keep the forum updated with experiences (pleasant/un-pleasant) in future.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

Two of the cars in my family have spent a lot of time at World of Service: which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

I have already written on this thread earlier that I waited for nearly 14-15 months before giving my Palio to WoS for any work.

The Alto has been maintained by them for more than a year and I would say I am satisfied with what they are doing. The Palio recently has had many repeat visits for an AC / cooling / high-speed fan related issue. It has been solved, but with help from Kashyap Fiat and a local AC specialist.

I also know the owner of WoS personally for a very long time and have (and had) dealings with him on a non-automotive related front. I feel I should put this down here before somebody brings that up in this review.

1. They need to improve their diagnostic skills. That is a weak point. It leads to multiple visits for the customers, blockage of workshop space and a general bad feeling with customers. Sometimes, it also wastes money. Some trouble-shooting skills comes with experience, some comes with the correct attitude. I feel they lack the former but are generally okay with the latter.

2. A lot of people have complained about labour charges. For a set-up which is reasonable in pricing of parts, the labour charges are acceptable. It takes money to run a service centre in a good location in an Industrial sector in Noida. They are not running a road-side garage in a property not legally allowed to do so. A general comparison of my service and maintenance bills from ASC versus WoS shows an advantage with WoS.

3. Their customer response system and skills need work but they are improving by the day. It has to get out of the point where one needs to personally speak to the owner for everything. From what I can see in the past few months, their is a set-up now with a manager and two SAs.

4. They need to get a card-payment system up. I invariably end up paying 2-3 days AFTER taking the car because I never seem to have enough cash in my pocket!

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

The brakes on my Jetta DSG TDI were getting a little weak. World of Service technicians had advised me that they had about 5K of life left on them when I went for servicing a few months back. I went to World of Service a couple of days ago to get my brake pads changed. I called Mr. Shukla and he gave me an appointment for Friday. The parts had been ordered beforehand and were ready by the time I arrived.

As usual, I was extremely satisfied with the service provided. The work was done efficiently and at a great price while maintaining high standards and attention to detail.

The owner, Mr. Anupam Shukla, is a very professional and knowledgeable gentleman. His knowledge about cars is phenomenal and he always takes the time to listen to the customer in order to understand any concerns and then allocates the work to the appropriate mechanic. His enthusiasm for cars is obvious and he really enjoys his work. The staff are also careful in inspecting and rectifying issues and handle customers' cars with good care. As an example, the mechanic took about 5 minutes to carefully maneuver my Jetta on the ramp in order to avoid scraping the underside.

While waiting for the brake pads to be changed, I asked WoS to also check my air-conditioner as the compressor was cutting out every so often. They have a specialised ac technician and a specialised machine that can be connected to your car to diagnose your ac system. The machine indicates pressure on the frontside and the backside of the ac system and can vacuum out the refrigerant and refill it as well. World of Service mechanics spent over one hour to diagnose and rectify the ac issues. Eventually it was decided that the ac condenser would need replacement. Before coming to this conclusion, the owner and the mechanics tried everything possible to avoid the extra expense. They even had my radiator flushed to see if that would stop the condenser from cutting out due to possible overheating. The vacuuming of the system and the flushing of the radiator has improved the ac performance and now I can postpone any potential repairs till next summer. Incredibly, I was not charged anything for the review and diagnosis of the ac system even though they spent over an hour on it. This is excellent customer service. The radiator flush was done promptly to allow me to pick up the vehicle after having a quick lunch.

Once again I was very satisfied with the prompt and professional service and the reasonable charges. This is a great neighbourhood garage run by friendly and knowledgeable folks. They have proper lifts installed and have technicians available to handle electrical work, mechanical issues and painting. I would wholeheartedly recommend them for all sorts of work from denting and painting to servicing and for minor and major repairs. They use high quality parts and consumables and able to source OEM parts at very good prices.

Having discovered World of Service gives me great peace of mind regarding car ownership. I sincerely thank Anupam and his staff for looking after me and my Jetta so well.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

I took my Swift VDI to WOS last month for Normal Servicing and a general check up as I was to take the car to Jalori Pass, Himachal Pradesh. Now before I go there I wanted a normal service and also to check if everything is alright in the car.

Well the ODO on my Car was 98k kms, I called up at the WOS before and then took an appointment. I always do this just to make sure that my car gets whole attention so I ask them for a time and day as well when I can bring it.

I reached the WOS on the day fixed for my service. As soon as I reached in, my Car was taken on the lift within 15mins. I had already informed them about my plans of taking the car to the treacherous route of Jalori Pass and specially when monsoon was in full swing. So without me instructing anything, they removed all the tyres and checked the hub and the brakes. Also cleaned the drum brakes and checked the disc pad.

Then they lifted the car high just to check for any leaks or any damage to under-body parts as well. They told me that the disc pad is slightly torn out but it should do the work as per now. Also they gave me the update about my disc plate a bit worn out so within next 20k kms it would need replacement. then they went ahead and did the normal engine oil change, filter change and all the stuff.

I am happy and satisfied with the quality of work they do and the explanation of the vehicle. The team is now dedicated and specialize in different works like mechanical, electrical, paint, tyres, etc but whenever they are free all are more than eager to help others. Yes it took me hardly 2hrs and I was out of there. Also before handing the car over, a test drive is mandatory which was given with me on the passenger seat. I like the detailed observation of the Mechanics over there.

It gives me immense peace knowing that WOS is there for my car which I love. Thank you once again WOS, keep up the good work.

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Garage - World of Service (Sector 63, Noida)

This post is on behalf of my friend who has a 2012 Swift Dzire VDI with 45K kms. For the past few days, he has been facing a peculiar issue with the self-start. Cold starts were quite delayed. So, he got it checked at MotorCraft and FastTrack Maruti Service centers, who suggested to get the four year old battery replaced. He changed the battery and got a brand new Amaron installed, but the self issue refused to vanish still kept haunting him (At times takes around 6-7 attempts). Now, both these service centers are hinting that there is an issue with the compression in the engine and then engine would need to be worked upon. Obviously, the expected bills were outrageous, considering that this vehicle as only run about 45K kms and has never been abused till date.

So, today decided to give WoS a try and he duly spoke to Anupam. Very knowledgeable person he is, and tried to give as much technical information as possible. But, since he too would not be able to say anything without opening the engine, we will have to wait and watch what comes out. Anupam has asked for 7 days time to get everything sorted.

Will keep you guys updated with any further updates.

@Safari_Beast: Forgot to mention that the starter motor was also checked by FastTrack/MotorCraft and found to be not faulty.

Update: My friend got a call from Anupam informing that the Turbo would also need replacement. Also, the Clutch is reaching the end of its life. So, 2 more thing adding to the cost
