So i have been using stock seats till now and the front seats have got a bit dirty and a slight tear in the driver seat. So now contemplating getting seat covers.

Do seats come in a fabric-leatherette blend like its originally there from factory ?(see attached pic) Gurgaon gets incredible hot and i feel the full leatherette seats will make it uncomfortable to use in summers. Do dealers make seats for hatchbacks like mine or is it the ready to use options only? Also do seat covers involve heavy damage to the factory seats ?

Best to speak to Raju/Rahul and get an understanding of what all is possible. It is very doable IMHO.

When you install new seat covers, you have two options - one is to stitch them onto the factory covers (rendering the original upholstery useless), the second is to just fit them on, which leads to a very poor finish and causes many wrinkles. My suggestion is to go for the first method especially since your original seat already has some tears.

Is there anyone in Gurgaon who does these OEM fit steering covers?

When I visited Raju in May this year. His nephew was also working there. He told me that he is opening his own shop in Gurgaon for same kind of work. He requested me to visit him in Gurgaon once he opens the shop.

Later, He called me to inform that he has opened the shop.

If you want his contact details, let me know.

Did he open the steering to fit the cover ?
I've heard from friends and a couple of videos on YouTube that it costs 1000-1200 in Karol Bagh for any colour in absolute OE fit without opening anything.

Yes, he opened the steering. No idea about Karol Bagh.

Call him and he will whatsapp his location.

Finally, after 4 years and 2 cars of dilly-dallying later, dropped into their new shop at Gurgaon. Contacted the person at the above mentioned number. Turned out that the shop was quite close-by and easily reachable.

Must I Say the guys do a perfect job. Charged me Rs 2200 for steering wrap.

Could you please post details of these other Karol Bagh guys. I shudder at the thought of the steering wheel being taken apart. Who knows if the airbag will work later, if it's ever needed.

If there is an issue with the airbag you will have a warning light. No need to worry! The guys are experienced and responsible. :)

Opening the drivers airbag is a fairly simple job. Involves unplugging a 2 pin connector after removing a locking clip. Don't worry, even if the connection is left loose, the airbag warning light will immediately come up in the instrument binnacle.

So this is the nephew's shop? How bad is the drive to this shop in Gurgaon. Can I go on weekdays? Is the area too crowded or should I reserve a weekend to go down and get the work done? Is there parking available?

Sorry, too many questions.

Karol Bagh or no Karol Bagh, I have got a leather wrap done before without opening the steering wheel and I must admit the work was pretty shoddy. The finish that you get is never as good and nowhere close to the OEM finish. If I am not comfy with the airbag being taken off I would much rather not get a wrap done because as it ages, it really makes the steering wheel looks ugly (the one where they dont take the wheel off). On the other hand, opening the wheel makes sure the finish is top notch and in case there are any issues, the Airbag lights will come up.
