I was amidst a 4,500 km long drive, and while crossing NCR, I was actually embarrassed to drive along in an insanely dirty car. However during my previous stints at Gurgaon, I was not happy with the way cars were being washed at regular washing centers. Even the so called professional centers were lacking in many aspects.

A friend from Gurgaon recommended this outlet, and I must say, I wasn't disappointed. Later came to know that it was owned by BHPian AJ56, and it was a nice first meet.

Outright, it may sound a bit extravagant, but the value one gets and the end result, makes the amount charged well worth it. I paid Rs. 1,600 for an inside out car detailing/cleaning.

My requirements and requests:

-A Proper foam wash which cleans up the muck, bugs, and loads of dirt without gifting me back any swirls
-Interiors were a bit dusty thanks to the drives around dunes.
-Dressing on interior trims, provided they don't leave any oily residue.
-Requested them to clean the air filter, I strongly believe it's one of the key things which result in FE, and thus a clean filter is always desirable.

I suppose its just my perception of value, but 1600 for that much work (if I understand correctly you had both the exterior washed as well as the interior vacuumed + dressed, right?) sounds like a decent deal (not cheap, but definitely not extravagant) to me. I mean, a dinner for 2 costs about as much and the dinner probably lasts much lesser


That said, is foaming and cleaning the engine bay with water a good idea? I had read multiple people online indicate that they had electronics issues after cleaning their engine bay with water - and the XUV 700 even (sometimes) needs its silver box replaced if you let water seep in via the inside of the windshield (like during the installation of tint films). So how safe is foaming and cleaning the engine bay directly with water in the age of cars with so much electronics?

Extravagant only if someone compares primarily against cost, as there are numerous centers who claim to give similar services for far lesser costs. But as you rightly pointed out, it's the value one should see, and the quality of job done surely justifies the amount.

Depends on the car I'd say, every car has some weak areas and one needs to be aware before taking such steps, for example the K15B is known to have leaky coil packs which lets in water in the spark plug well if pressure washer nozzle is pointed directly over them, thus I ensure pressure of water is no more than what comes out of a garden hose. Else, if you wish to play it safe, avoid washing the engine bay altogether.

Anish specifically asked me if I'm fine with engine bay cleaning, I requested about the pressure, and he instructed the chaps to use hose directly.

Only vacuuming was needed in my case, and that was done. Roof was clean and I anyways don't prefer touching the liner often. They cleaned dust from every nook and cranny. The mats(including carpet) were cleaned extremely well.

Its decent when compared to the same amount of work done from 3M. I live in Noida and have to cross into Delhi, New Friends Colony (NFC) to get the same amount of work which 'Leoshashi' got done on his car, and its costs me 2000 every time. I get that same job done from 3M twice a year on my car.

This is relative, I have a 13 year old car and never faced any issues getting engine bay pressure wash done on it.

Its a 2008 Honda Accord 2.4L AT. The 5C car care by the looks of it is far more scrupulous when compared to other car detailing centers.

At least for VW cars, service advisor told me that engine way should never washed. They just wipe the engine bay to clean it.

Got my Ignis washed and slightly detailed ( only sealant application done ). I was glad that Anish did not find any major swirl marks on my 10 months old car so no machine polishing was done ( except two extremely small spots in the bumpers for hard water stain removal )

Overall the team did a fantastic job in cleaning the car. They literally took care of every nook and cranny. Total time taken for work was about 4 hours out of which maximum time and effort went on to clean the car from scratch.
