Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Delhi NCR

Minimun Octane rating requirement for the Omc's is 91 Octane so they have to supply fuel above that rating in the 13 metros. However each pump undergoes a surprise Sampling each year which also includes a detail fuel sample test and a report is sent to the dealer mine showed Octane rating of 93-94. So isnt exactly 95 but hovers nearby. Hope that helps

The characteristic 'water in petrol tank' behavior did happen with my mom's car too when I filled it up at the same petrol pump!! So I'm pretty sure the prob is with the fuel!

Where's your pump at btw!?

In That case you should lodge a complaint at the bunk and the onus lies on them to prove to you that there isnt any water in their tanks. Also take your car to hyundai and check if there is indeed water in the tank if so Then the pump is liable to cover all damages to your car..
I am on Vinay Marg, Chanakyapuri.

I am amazed because that pump is really a trusted one by a lot of supercar and superbike owners, infact every sunday it has all superbikes lining up for speed 97 and even i have got speed 97 for my bike last week from there and its running as it should.

BPCL provides really good quality of fuel and the kind of reputation and sales this particular pump has, am sure they wont like to mess it up but then you are sure that issues started after filling up your car then just lodge a complaint with BPCL over email, i just hope its a one off thing.

I did once for HP and the results were outstanding, the pump manager called me to apologize and asked me to come for a quality and quantity check.

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Delhi NCR

Okay so somehow I missed this thread. Following are the list of pumps which I have been using regularly with no issues.

1. Pusa Road next to Bagga Link Showroom..both the pumps.
2. Pragati Maidan - just before left turn to Science Museum.
3. Indian Oil pump next to Pusa Gate.
4. Noida Sec 82 Petrol Pump.

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Delhi NCR

Beware of the Dhaula Kuan Service Centre - HP petrol pump after Dhaula Kuan Metro Station (second HP pump on left side while coming from ITC Maurya towards Gurgaon). The pump rips you off on volume.

I'd lodged a complaint with HP on their website. After investigation, they confirmed it as a chase of cheating and made the pump compensate me.

Its great that they reacted on your complaint. Could you share the details for others' benefit?

I'd stopped by to top up my Santro's tank. They charged me for 28Ltrs. After keeping the car for over 5 years wherein I've been tanking up each time I stop at a fuel bunk, I was pretty sure that they've overcharged for atleast 4-5 Ltrs. I lodged a complaint with HPCL website. Got an email few days later from ASM asking for date and approximate of refill. As per him all the retail outlets are automated and transactions are recorded.

Couple of weeks later, got an email asking for my contact number, which was followed by a call from ASM confirming it was a case of cheating and he asked how I wish to be compensated for it. I conveyed that as long as they take suitable action and prevent cheating with other customers, I'm fine with it. He said that the attendant has been fired and HPCL is contemplating taking further action including registering a Police case. He added that I'll be informed of the further action taken. He also said that I could go to the retail outlet and claim Rs 500 worth of fuel / cash. The entire process took less than a month and I was impressed with the responsiveness.

Visited the RO a few days later while passing by that stretch and collected cash (the expression on the RO supervisor's face was priceless and worth much more than the money!!).

Saw an Indian Oil pump in Delhi selling 93 octane petrol. Request if anyone can share details of any pump in Gurgaon stocking it. Any feedback on this fuel is also solicited. Cheers!

From what i know 97 octane is available only in delhi because delhi gets supplies from bijwasan depot and gurgaon from bahadurgarh depot. Hence they dont stock it. 97 is just available in delhi and not the ncr.

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Delhi NCR

My choice —

Bharat Petroleum - Singh Motors, Nehru Place (GK1).
24X7 - Don't know.

Cleanest fuel that I know of. Both my cars are finicky about the quality of fuel. Opel starts jerking and shuddering and Merc doesn't accelerate like it should. Also, seems like the Lambo, Rolls Royce and Beetle (!) owners of GK1 favour this place. Has an In & Out. Has good clean stock of 97 octane which is always fresh (Yes, freshness matters even with petrol!)

Hindustan Petroleum - Panschilla Service Station (I THINK), Next to Ansal Plaza. (Can't miss it).
24X7 - Don't know.
Does have my favourite Alignment wala, who is really good.
They also have a car wash but the mechanics drive the cars really badly, so I'd avoid it.

Bharat Petroleum - Soami Nagar. On the outer ring road, when going towards IIT etc. Has an IOC pump right next to it. Does have In & Out. Even the IOC isn't bad.

Must Avoid —
Anoop Service Station, Alaknanda. (Opposite Jahapana Club) - They rip you on quantity and the quality is just awful.

IOC pump on your left on the BRT going towards Saket. Quality is terrible.
