I visited them for the first time a couple of months ago for a small wiring job and agree with all the sentiments towards their positive attitude and competence. However, most experiences have been with ICE setups.

Am planning on trying a HID conversion kit for my Civic. Any experiences with light upgrades at Motor Concepts would be much appreciated.

Memphis, no wonder they do stock lights and HID's but since they are ICE specialists, I would ask you to go to a specialist only if you are looking for a projector conversion. If its just an HID conversion, grab a Philips/Osram kit if they have one, and get it installed!

Can somebody help me in choosing between Rainbow Sound Line c6.2 and Focal 165 v30? And please suggest me what could be the tentative price for the same?

Depends on what music you listen to?

Rainbows are generally more mellow and warm whereas Focal are for all kind of music but generally more crispy and sharp!

Sunroofs too now?

Quoting my post from the sunroof thread -

I visited Motor Concept on Feb 8th, 2015 for a complete overhaul of my Scorpio's music system, and in the subsequent week, for installing my old amp in my Nano. In my opinion, Motor Concept is probably the best shop for ICE installs for the following reasons:
  1. Top of the Line Equipment and Choice Provided: I found Aman to be a professional in this regard. Most other shops I visited in the past prefer a particular brand and try to shove it down your throat, perhaps because they make more money off those brands, or perhaps because they prefer those brands. In many cases, even because they aren't even aware of any other brand. But at Motor Concept, they sell the best brands, and recommend a suitable product based on your requirements, without trying to make you buy something for the heck of it. I went to Motor Concept with the desire to install a 3-way Component Speaker System, which would have been more expensive, and would have entailed some fiber-glass fabrication work, on which Aman would certainly have made more money. However, he explained why I only needed two-way components, and why a high-end set of two-way components would work well for me, thus saving me quite a bit of money. There were other areas as well, where Aman saved me a bunch of money, such as by re-using all my speaker cabling because it was of high-quality. I'm certain any other shop would have convinced me that the old cable would not do, and charged me another few thousands for speaker cable. Where he did not compromise was on re-damping my front doors which had been poorly done earlier, and in using a good quality amplifier cable kit. The sound quality difference, as a result of this, is very obvious in the car
  2. Good Pricing and Budget Adherence: I found the pricing comparable to a lot of online stores, and did not see any attempts to unnecessarily inflate the bill. Aman stuck to my budget completely, and if anything, I was happy to see the bill a bit lower than anticipated. In fact, Aman had forgotten to bill something that was installed, and I had to remind him to add it. This was a very pleasant experience for me after being certain in past installs, that I have been ripped off on some items :)
  3. High-Quality Work: The team at Motor Concept use good quality materials, and ensure good fit and finish. I did not see any of the typical "jugaad" at work during the install. In fact, some of the steps, such as putting the amp power cables in conduit pipes was a revelation for me. I have always seen ICE installers just leave those cables bare and thought that to be the norm. None of that happens here though. For my Nano, the rear door pockets were cut and the speakers installed. The quality of the cutting and the install were very impressive. In addition, they have very good fiber-glass and wood-working capability, with a full set of professional tools
  4. Individual Attention: They're very strict about working on one or two cars at a time and making the others wait. This really ensures a high-quality install due to the dedicated attention of the staff. I had to wait my turn very patiently, though the wait was well worth it :D
  5. Sheltered Location: Most other shops in NCR have open space in front of their shop where they do the install. Motor Concept has a covered garage that can accommodate 3 cars at most, and they work only on 2 cars at a time. This means much less dust and dirt in the car during the install
  6. Good Clean-up after Finishing Installs: I've read a lot on this forum about smudges and dirty spots in the car after installs, and have experienced my own fair share of those. But at Motor Concept, I found that the cleaning after the install is very good, and they neatly put the old stuff back in the car. At most other shops, after the install, I have always seen stray pieces of wire, screws, plastic, and even tools left over in the car.
Overall, it was a great pleasure to get my ICE install done at Motor Concept, and I highly recommend to anyone buying a new car in NCR and looking for a quality ICE install to come straight here.

Digital Designs :D

I know of a place where the answer to all your ICE questions is - you guessed it right.....Digital Designssss! :D

The ICE setup in my swift is 4+ years old now and except for cleaning the contact pins of HU I haven't had a single issue with it but next time I'm out in the market, I'd definitely visit Motor Concept.

An ICE shop which takes care of your car is unheard of in Delhi and with such positive reviews flowing in, I think Motor Concept is most definitely my next stop shop for ICE needs.

My past experience was with a certain shop recommending Rockford Fosgate as the be-all and end-all of car audio. But that perception changed after joining Team-BHP, and especially after visiting Motor Concept, having better quality products installed, and having a couple of professionals like Gunbir and Jasdeep tune the set-up.

I had my first install from Elegant in Lajpat Nagar and was utterly disappointed after paying them 60k. A whining noise was coming when the accelerator pedal was pressed. All they did was put in a noise filter to correct it. But it didn't solve the problem. I went to Motor Concept and Mr. Aman straight away said the wiring used is of cheap quality and suggested me Focal Wiring.

My response was that I will pay only if the problem goes completely otherwise no payment at all which he readily accepted. After the wiring no whining noise was there so came out happy.

Second time I got Rainbow SL C6.2 and Beat 4 amp installed along with damping.Only problem I am having is that there is slight noise in the left side doors of my car. Also some plastics were not properly fixed. When I got it checked the last time the workers at his place told me that this can't be fixed as the doors are too thin. Mr. Aman was not there but through phone call he made them correct it. But the noise is still there. May be I will head out again.

Overall I am satisfied with the quality of the sound. Guy is very polite which I really appreciate.

is Moto concept better than Driven?

Need to get good quality work done.

There's not better. Both are good audio shops run by good owners having good quality work.
Whatever's closer to you, choose that! :)

Both are good shops. Mr. Parmod who used to be the ace installer at motor concept is now at Driven. Had my polo iced few days back and I am thoroughly impressed.

I've got work done at both. Both sell the same brands as they buy from the same distributor/s. Motor Concept is a notch above from my pespective because 1. They have a covered space 2. Aman is very customer-focused, and sticks to the budget you give. This is only my opinion and not an attempt to deride Driven in any way. You won't find finer Car Audio installers than either of these shops anywhere in India, and that I can say with confidence having seen work done in some other cities

I guess let me start off by sharing my experience since its been long overdue now that I have been visiting motor concept for almost 4 years and have got 6 cars iced from them.

It all started in march of 2011 when I discovered that there is a lot more to car audio then sony 222 and sound barrier and V12 apms this was my intial tryst with car audio. Read up on the net about component speakers and jbl amps and what not so decided to get an ICE upgrade for My Fiesta 1.4Tdci I still rember it like it was just yesterday. Googled the net and only one name kept popping up DRIVEN , so decided to go to the driven and see what I can get for my Precious 25 grand that I had saved up for this , also to tell of you that 25 grand was a very princely sum for me then as I had just started working.!

So with money in hand off I drive to driven walk in and I was greeted by rana ji , I am in awe of the place with its display of audio products and a couple of cars all jazzed up outside and a few customers there discussing stuff, I politely tell ranaji that I want an ice upgrade for my fiesta and I have a pioneer HU from my old car , I will just be needing a AMP ,comp speakers up front and a woofer and my budget is 25K. Immediately rana ji shows me some comps an amp and woofer I forgot the brands as it was 2011 plus I was dazed at this new world :D like any body I asked "Kitna Lagega " (wats it going to cost) he gave me an approx. estimate of 45 grand and I was like ohh well I need to save some more Sigh! so I tell him I will let him know and walk out but since it was my first time there I bought a bottle of armorall dash polish for 200/- my first and last purchase at Driven.

Came onto TBHP and someone had put up a review of Motor Concept just about that time as well so I thought why not go there and see if something can be done, so I walk into their shop and am greeted by Aman who listens to what I want I tell him boss my budget is 25 grand not a penny more he says ok let me show you how comps sound and I was elated till that day I hadn't heard a comp speaker so he takes me to his car, he used to drive a Accent that time which had Hertz Energy comps upfront as well as in the back , however since I just wanted the comps up front he gave me demo of them and I was floored I never knew you could get this sort off sound clarity it was all new to me. He tells me we will put in

1. Hertz energy comps
2.Bull audio Woofer
3.Kenwood 4 channel amp
4.bull wiring kit
5. damping

the total was 23 grand and some change back then and I was beyond happy I had some change left to party lol. He also went on to mention with a smile that I should listen to this setup and when you want to upgrade or change he would guide me further.

That was a brief of my very first experience with car Audio after this I have got 6 cars iced from him and the level of comfort I get dealing with motor concept I feel cant be matched anywhere else.

They have done an absolutely fantastic job on my accord that I just got iced yesterday, My safari is at a whole other level all together I Got this done in my safari
1 Two Rockford T0 Woofer
2. Digital designs M2b Amp
3. 4 Channel I Paul amp
4. rainbow dream line comps up front
5. Rockford pro tweeters (rear)
6. Rockford pro midbass (rear)

From that fiesta to this safari its been an all exciting journey and it couldn't have been possible without Aman And Bindra Jee

Out of all of my 6 cars pramod has iced jus that silver fiesta and all others have been done by Chandu /Anjay who also does a fab job so in all honesty to say that only pramod was the ace installer there is not fair.

My Safari was done by Chandu and the dude is crazy finicky about perfection just a small eg, he mounted both the DD amp and the Ipaul on my rearseat took him almost an hour then he says I am gonna re do it all again am not happy at how its looking now. Took him another 2 hours to re do it all over so my respect to him for that. This is just based on my experience.

I have been to Motor Concept before on several occasions, ICE on my Aveo was done here, so was on my brother's and few more friends and relatives. So Motor Concept was the obvious choice when I wanted ICE for my Celerio.

I had already made up my mind about head unit, it had to be touchscreen double din and camera to be integrated in it. Budget front components to be driven by head unit and co-axial in the back doors.

Spoke to Aman and he suggested the following equipment
Head unit: Pioneer AVH-X2890BT
Front components: DLS MA6.2
Rear Co-axial: Digital Designs (Forgot the model number)

As the setup was crossing over my budget of 30k I decided to not go for damping and DD co-axial and used a pair of speakers which came factory fitted in Aveo for the rear doors.

Pioneer AVH-X2890BT has a nice interface, good response of touch screen much better than previous generation Pioneer touch screen which have to be pressed hard for exact function and have a little lag in response. Can easily pair two mobile phones and switch on the go whichever is receiving call.

DLS MA6.2 sound awesome for a pair at this price point and driven by head unit. I have Rainbow Soundlines in Aveo and you have to hear DLS out to know that it really is worth the money.

All in all it was another great experience with Aman at Motor Concept and is highly recommended!!
