Here is my Smoked Alto!
Was impressed seeing the work done by KarthikK on his Punto. Thought I too will try out this DIY mod.
But I dint feel like taking the risk of directly jumping on to the intended work. So I began wrapping my Phone's back panel with matte black wrap. And with great difficulty could complete it.
Here is the result:

Realised that wrapping the headlight (or any part of the car) is not my cup of tea and headed out to a local sticker shop. Moreover after the vinyl sheet was delivered (yes, it was bought online on ebay) I realised that it was a tad shorter and needed accurate fixing.
Now, let pictures do the talking:

Yes while applying, the sheet did fall short of length. Thanks to the creativity of the guy who was applying the film, he suggested we do this as there was a crease on the tail lamp and it din't pose any problem of symmetries.

Thank you so much for such a best procedure. Photographs are self demonstrative.

The Rear bumper CARBON FIBER work looks stunning.

Is it coated with laminated sheet or clear coat???

Has anyone done this on an XUV500?

Doing this on XUV might be difficult because of the taillight shape. You might have to leave out indicator part to make it successful as a DIY.

Which colour XUV are you talking about BTW?

It can be done as a DIY with some lack of detailing if it's the first time you are trying!
But the local car sticker shop wala can probably get better results. But then the sole purpose - DIY, will be lost!

Re: D-I-Y: Smoke Tinted Headlamps & Tail Lamps

I am taking delivery of Ecosport Tit+ AT this Saturday in Grey color.

I really like the smoked out headlamps on the S Model.

Is it possible to replicate that look on the Titanium+ using a smoke tint film?

The stock smoked out lamps on the S model look quite subtle and unlike the completely blacked out look (achieved using the film) that I see on this thread.

Attached front image of both models (Titanium plus and S)

Suggestions please ...

Re: D-I-Y: Smoke Tinted Headlamps & Tail Lamps

Just took the delivery of the 2019 Honda City day before yesterday. Since it's a 'V' variant - it has conventional bulb type taillights. No LED. Therefore I decided to black them out myself.

Let the pictures do the talking.

Re: D-I-Y: Smoke Tinted Headlamps & Tail Lamps

Sure this will reduce the intensity of the throw to some extent & with not much of regular night driving, should hold for long too. Neat job
