Gannu, slot16 is not empty. You wanted me to tap this fuse? Is there any empty slot I can use which activates with ignition ON?

It isn't empty but you can use the fuse tap and connect both the fuses to the tapping cable. Works.

Just to add, this doesn't alter the primary circuit in any way. We are only tapping an extra 12V and providing an independent fuse to it.

Re: VW Polo DIY: Adding a lamp to the glovebox

hi gannu_1
i ve got some rear footwell lights and an auto dimming irvm/dashcam for my vento (2015). im planning to get some fuse taps from ali express and do not know if i should get the mini or medium fuse taps for the same. I see fuse taps with different amperes as well. which ones should i be looking for? any tips would be much appreciated

Both would work. You are essentially tapping 12 V from a source. Stick to a 5A fuse.

Re: VW Polo DIY: Adding a lamp to the glovebox

Noob question, but can I use the door switch from any refrigerator for lighting the glove box? Any cheap way to convert the 250V input?

Edit: I found this link on AliExpress.
Is this ok?

Re: VW Polo DIY: Adding a lamp to the glovebox

I attempted this DIY recently, and have recorded my learnings in this post (My pre-worshipped Volkswagen Polo GT TSI with lots of DIYs) on my ownership thread.
