Re: DIY: Upgrading the headlamp bulbs of the Elite i20

I own a 2017 Asta(O) (with projectors). Thinking of upgrading to HIDs. Will it require a cut in the dust cover? Has anyone upgraded the bulbs of the model with projectors?
Also, is the projector and bulb spec same as in the Creta and the new Verna?

Can you post a picture of the dust cover / rear of the headlamp assembly? Although - pretty much in all cars the dust cover needs a cut since the ballast sits outside & wiring from the bulb, stock socket need to run to and from the ballast.

Hi All,

I own a 2019 Elite I20 Asta(O) Diesel with projector headlamps with inbuilt LED. I am very disappointed with the lighting. I want to upgrade my headlamps but I don't want to void any warranty.

I have no knowledge on how to upgrade projectors.
Do they have a bulb similar to normal headlamps or which is the way I can safely upgrade my headlamps to a better ones without voiding warranty?

Please help
Hello, I own a 2019 asta option model of the i20 and I am also looking to upgrade the bulbs.

Did you get a chance to upgrade? If yes kindly share the details as it would be helpful.

During my research I found an option from lightingxpertz.
They are suggesting FEretrofit z vision plus which costs 14k

I felt this is a costly upgrade and thought of just upgrading the hb3 bulbs.

Kindly advise if you had a chance to upgrade

Cheers

Hi,

As far as the options I checked, changing the bulb alone is the safest way without affecting the warranty but it’s useless and it will not make much difference. You may go for a white bulb instead of yellow but yellow bulbs are best during rains.

If warranty is not a problem, you have so many options like going for LED’s etc.

I decided to stick to stock setup rather than doing something stupid and regretting later as i have 5 year warranty and the car is just one year old.
