Re: DIY: Installing OPS (Optical Parking System) in the VW Polo / Vento

Hello,

I have a 2017 Model of VW Polo Highline Plus.
The HU is R340G

Can i install the OPS?
Also can i install reverse parking camera?

If i install camera, will the OPS be integrated in the camera display?

Hi,
Ans 1: Yes you can install OPS both 4K and 8K. Installing 4K is simple but 8K gives lot of convenience.

Ans 2: You can install reverse parking camera, infact you can install both aftermarket and OEM camera in Vento. All models after 2016 have slot in the boot to accommodate OEM reverse parking camera. My car is 2015 model, hence to install OEM camera I need to cut sheet metal to accommodate the larger size boot opening switch with camera.

Ans 3: RCD 340 wont display camera and OPS simultaneously. You can either choose camera (default) or OPS display when you engage reverse gear.

Ques from Sarfaraz: Could you pls help me source the wiring for CANBUS High/Low and power supply? I have the Ops module..
Ans: You can connect to CANBUS powertrain using blue connector for instrument cluster (T32) instead of BCM (T73b). More details about this are there in first post of this thread.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
