Re: DIY: Ford EcoSport LED Headlights upgrade

Vid6639,

On cars using H7 bulbs for the low beam, would the following bulb from Philips work?

https://www.philips.co.in/c-p/12985B...-bulb/overview

As per the spec sheet, it should be a plug and play modification. The voltage required is 12V which is as per stock specifications but the power consumption (stock: 55W) isn't mentioned.

Yup. H7 is the easiest plug and play since the connector is usually outside. It's the simplest change.

Don't worry in terms of wattage. the LED will draw lesser wattage than the same stock bulb i.e. less than 55W.

Re: DIY: Ford EcoSport LED Headlights upgrade

Vid - Excellent thread, thanks!
I also have an Ecosport, specifically the 2013 AT model, and it's still running on stock headlamps.
Without spending too much, and without getting into the hassle of importing stuff into India, which, in your opinion, would give me the best possible upgrade?
I was about to go for the Xtremevisions, but if you think I can get something substantially better for a little more money, please can you advise?
Thanks.

Anyone has a good fix for the lousy projector headlamp on the Thunderbird? I think I read somewhere but can't recollect that there is a good fix to get the low beam projector to acceptable levels?

Philips has the H4 LED's as well. They are around 7-8K. Very similar to what I have. Make sure you get the latest model.

Re: DIY: Ford EcoSport LED Headlights upgrade

Headlights have been working well so far. These are a good upgrade for sure but as I mentioned earlier, the Ford Ecosport reflector design is poor.

However now having gone a little crazy on LED's. I am ordering the following: http://a.co/h4eao8Q

This is purely to test my theory and see if there is a more VFM LEd option than the Philips, Morimoto, Xenondepot bulbs.

For anyone wanting or willing to try expensive bulbs pls. look at Morimoto Profile peak, or https://gtrlighting.com/gtr-lighting...rd-generation/. I'm not to keen on spending ~$100-200 for trial

The GTR lighting Ultra series 3 LED are known to be the brightest LEd on the market today.

That model is no longer on sale by Beamtech but you can get exact same one from Auxbeam with same reviews: http://a.co/9MVwyAz

BEamtech has replaced it with a newer model: http://a.co/czk8bGB This is fan based and not the fins for cooling.

And here's links to aliexpress for similar ones:

Hi Vidyut, thanks a lot for this thread for helping out fellow EcoSport owners facing headlight woes.

I am planning to buy the ones in the quoted link from Aliexpress. Just wanted to know if these show any error on the Sync screen on the dashboard.

Oslamp Auto Led H7 Headlight H13 9005 HB3 9006 HB4 Led H4 Car Bulb 6500K CSP Chip 50W 8000lm Fan-less H8 H11 Fog Lamp All-in-one

On another note, I have got led bulbs for all 4 indicators and these suffer from hyper flashing and get an error message on the screen saying "change left/right indicator bulb as it may not be working". Should I get a LED decoder to get rid of this?

Thanks

Yes. You'll need a LED in-line resistor to solve the hyper flashing issue.

Can you post link and images of the LED that you bought for the indicator?

The ones I have don't have any error and I've tried 2 of them so far. Both didn't have any CANBUS error circuit.

My guess is the indicators are using less current and showing as open causing the hyper flashing which usually happens when one indicator bulb is usually fused and the rest of the indicators now get more current and they hyper flash.

This is not the case with headlights.

Hello again Vid,
https://www.amazon.in/myTVS-H4-Headlight-Kit-Ford-EcoSport/dp/B07FFSMYF6/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1533748608&s r=8-10&keywords=mytvs+led+h4
What do you think of these for the Ecosport? I can't make any difference out apart the cooling.

These are the 3 way lights. Will never work well. The light source will be at the wrong angle completely.

Look at these if getting from India: https://www.amazon.in/NIGHTEYE-Headl...+led+headlight

or check out the Aliexpress links I shared earlier:
