Yes, it was a straight fit. Slid right into the existing mount. Has a torx screw too if you want to tighten it further.

Thanks for this DIY and thread lemedico.

Can I fit this in 2012 XUV5OO? I checked and none of the XUV mirrors come with Auto D/N.

Thanks for the appreciation.

So basically, as long as the mount button matches, it will fit. If you could take your mirror off and show us a photo of the button, we could confirm compatibility.

Do you know if anyone has done this retrofit in their Honda City?

I'm assuming the mount is same since both are honda. If yes, my thread is next
This mirror is for the 4th generation ZX! It will definitely fit on yours.

I too own a 2020 Freestyle in the Titanium trim. I too have ordered the Honda Auto dimming IRVM. Today I removed the manual IRVM and checked the metal bracket pasted on the windshield. It looks similar to the one in the OP(unless there are minor differences not perceptible to the human eye). I am attaching a pic of the bracket on my FS.

This looks ditto to the Honda/Maruti mount. You'll definitely be able to upgrade without any issues!

Indeed it is similar , although the mount looks different visually , it will fit the Honda IRVM without any problems. Enjoy !

Attaching a photo of my uncle's brezza windshield IRVM mount which is the same which ford uses.

In cars which don't come with black film/spotted film for IRVM mount from factory, what is alternate to hide the mount from the front outside view of the car?

I haven't seen any car recently, which lacks that. Which car are you referring to though?

However, you could have a 4-5 inch strip of sun film pasted to the windscreen on the upper edge, as they used to in olden days!

A clear example is my car (swift) , it doesn't get the black film/ spotted film in the windshield because the IRVM is Roof mounted.
AFAIK any car that has no windshield Mounted IRVM , will technically not have the spot/black film.

I personally don't recommend this because if you put the film from inside of the car onto the windshield , the IRVM mount has chances of tearing it and ripping off from particularly that area because of the weight of the IRVM. Better to stick the IRVM mount on the bare windshield as it will bond better.

Mahindra uses a very different mount for XUV500 IRVM. After removing the trims near stock IRVM, the stock mirror arm has to be twisted 90 degrees anti-clockwise and then pulled out.

Caution: The rain/light sensors are mounted VERY close to the IRVM. Please carefully check if the rain sensor wire or connector is likely to come in the way of the mirror when twisting / removing it. It would be better to remove the rain sensor cable / connector before twisting the mirror's arm to minimize chances of any damage.

I am still waiting for the mirrors which were ordered a month back, and have some ideas in mind for a proprietary adapter or solution to put the new mirror without removing the old mount. However, I need the new mirror for correct measurements.

Any idea as to how long does it take for Boodmo to deliver? It's already been a month. Delivery date changed twice. Even in order status it shows "back order". Still, on product's page it shows delivery in 16 days.

We installed it in a friend’s Polo Trendline last weekend.

Once again, many many thanks to BHPian knxvb for spotting this gem of a part from Boodmo and letting us know. I’m sure Boodmo guys must be scratching their heads as to why this one’s flying off their shelves and is out of stock all the time.
