Nice work BBS.

Reminds me of those old days when our nokia phones were only green/yellow backlight and one model came with a blue light and was a rage and most of us clamored to get our bulbs changed to blue...

Ankit, didn't get time today and tomo seems to be a heavy day as well, saturday for sure i'll have pics up after dark.

And BBS, yeah, sorry for hijacking your thread.

Very interesting DIY. Amazing stuff BBS.

@Razor4077 - here's your answer to changing your instrument cluster colour. However, the new Scorps have backlit instrument clusters which would probably be a bit trickier.

@badboyscad - one thing I've always wanted to try and do, was put red LEDs into the dummy tall reflectors on the tail lamp of the new Scorp. It would look great don't you think? If you do take a look at the tail lamp / reflector panel of a new Scorp, let me know if it's possible. Would love to experiment on that. I'll then PM you for technical know-how.

Cheers,

It would be nice to get my Safari's dash lights colour-coded with the stereo in the middle - unfortunately Alpine does not provide an all-white option for their displays.

Is it possible to get the blue glow localized the way the white is done on the Safari dash which looks very classy at night? I dont want an all-blue glow like some kind of cheap chinese LED flashlight.

Roshun, Good thoughts. I was also thinking on the same lines. I had gone to the workshop saw the blank panels and are very much 'doable'.
I also enquired about the cost of the tower panels(pair costing Rs.1100) and is not readily available incase we goof up the original lights.
My idea has always been to put bright RED LEDs which should light up depending upon the brake pressure(half brake 2 or 3 rows light up. Full brake all rows light up).

IMO, don't... it'll enhance the christmas tree-ness of it... you might as well put a star on top while you're at it!!!

Nice. Just don't put the glowing blue logo on the car.

Yeah, sort of like brake-force indicators that are there on some BMW models.

@Tejas: When the lights anyway look pretty x-mas tree-like, might as well go the whole hog and do M&M a favor. Did you mean put a 3-pointer star on top? M&M=Mercedes & Mahindra...

BBS,

Did you see the LED lights mounted near the running board of the Brabus modified M class posted on this forum? You could try that too!
