I've been toying with the idea of putting up an LED VU meter
Multi color led are available in market which can also be used but issue will be that they all will not give the same color at a given time. it will be a true disco inside.

Multi color LEDs can be seen installed on some cabs in Bangalore.
I surely do not want that on my car.

now that gives me some DIY ideas for my alto interior lighting. I want to put LED Lighting in :
1. Footwells (front and rear)
2. under the door (to illuminate when door is open)
3. Cabin Light (replace the existing bulbs.
4. boot (i've got a speaker tray covering the rear and I'll need a light for the boot)
5. Plus, I need to add another cabin light for the rear.

should work on this slowly. will keep posting.

I would also be interested in the footwells lighting. I was wondering where to take the power source from. Would involve cutting some wires, i suppose.

Lemme know when you have time. I need to get the LED setup in my scorp' too. The OE lights are too dim for my taste.

Benny chetto, inspired by this thread.

Was inclined towards blue, then turned to pure white. For now, it feels just right at night with good visibility for reading, and CFL like colour!

Original lighting.

Just an update to this thread:

While the cabin light continues with the LED setup in my car, i reverted the LED setup in the boot. Since it was a very crude setup using cardboard as the base, the connections werent strong, and resulted in frequent shorting of the fuse. When i was rendered with a dark boot on a highway trip when i needed it the most, i reverted back to the original bulb in the boot. Since it was a easily reversible process, there was no pain involved.

Will need to do up the bootlight once again, but lack of time is the roadblock here.

P.S. : Nice to see many others have taken up the same idea.
